Setup and Installation
The Ibergrif M85043 sink supports both topmount (drop-in) and undermount installation methods. Choose the method that best suits your countertop and design preference.
1. Prepare the Countertop
Based on your chosen installation method, mark and cut the opening in your countertop. Refer to the dimensions provided in Figure 4 and Figure 5 for precise measurements.
- Topmount Installation: The sink rim rests on the countertop. Cutout dimensions are typically 460-470mm (length) x 390-400mm (width) with R10 corner radius.
- Undermount Installation: The sink is mounted beneath the countertop. Cutout dimensions are typically 450mm (length) x 380mm (width) with R10 corner radius.

Figure 3: Topmount vs. Undermount Installation
This image visually compares the two primary installation methods: topmount (where the sink rim sits on the countertop) and undermount (where the sink is installed below the countertop surface), illustrating the finished appearance of each.

This diagram provides precise measurements for the countertop cutout required for both topmount and undermount installations. It includes length, width, and corner radius specifications to ensure a proper fit for the sink.

This technical drawing illustrates the overall dimensions of the Ibergrif M85043 sink, including its length (500mm), width (430mm), and depth (200mm), along with internal basin measurements.
2. Install the Sink
- Apply a bead of silicone sealant around the edge of the cutout on the countertop.
- Carefully lower the sink into the opening (for topmount) or lift it into place from below (for undermount).
- Secure the sink using the provided mounting clips. Tighten them evenly to ensure a snug fit and proper seal.
- Wipe away any excess sealant immediately.
3. Assemble the Drain
Assemble the drain components as shown in Figure 2 and Figure 6. Ensure all seals are correctly seated to prevent leaks.
- Insert the drain strainer into the sink's drain opening.
- From underneath the sink, attach the rubber gasket and locking nut, tightening securely.
- Connect the P-trap and flexible drain hose to the drain assembly and then to your household plumbing.
- Ensure all connections are hand-tightened first, then use a wrench for a final snug fit, being careful not to overtighten.

This image provides a detailed exploded view of the individual components that make up the sink's drain system, including the strainer, gaskets, locking nuts, and various pipe sections, illustrating their order of assembly.
4. Test for Leaks
Once all connections are made, turn on the water supply and fill the sink. Check all connections for any signs of leaks. If leaks are detected, tighten the connections or re-seat the seals as necessary.
Operating Instructions
The Ibergrif M85043 sink is designed for everyday kitchen use. Its high capacity and efficient drainage system make daily tasks convenient.
- Use the sink for washing dishes, preparing food, and other kitchen activities.
- The included drain basket helps to catch food debris, preventing clogs in your plumbing.
- The X-channel design on the sink bottom promotes rapid water drainage, keeping the sink clean and dry.
- The overflow hole prevents the sink from overflowing if the faucet is left running.
Maintenance
Proper care will ensure the longevity and appearance of your stainless steel sink.
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, rinse the sink thoroughly with water to remove food particles and soap residue. Wipe dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots and mineral buildup.
- Regular Cleaning: For a deeper clean, use a mild dish soap or a specialized stainless steel cleaner with a soft sponge or cloth. Always rub in the direction of the grain.
- Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals (like bleach or strong acids) as these can scratch or damage the stainless steel finish.
- Prevent Stains: Avoid leaving acidic foods (e.g., citrus, tomatoes) or corrosive substances in the sink for extended periods. Rinse immediately if they come into contact with the surface.
- Sound Dampening: The sound-insulating pads on the bottom of the sink help minimize noise during use.
