Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install your water level sensor and controller:
1. Prepare the Sensor Probes
The water level sensor uses multiple probes to detect different water levels. You will need a PVC pipe (not included) to mount these probes at desired height intervals. Mark the pipe for 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% water levels, then drill small holes at these marks.

2. Install Sensor Probes into PVC Pipe
Insert the sensor probes into the drilled holes. Ensure the metal part of the sensor does not touch the PVC pipe directly. Connect the wires according to the color code: Blue for 100%, Green for 75%, Yellow for 50%, Red for 25%, and White for COM (common). The cable length can be extended up to 30 meters (approximately 100 ft).

3. Connect to the Controller
Connect the sensor wires to the corresponding terminals on the main controller unit. Ensure secure connections. The controller is powered by a DC12V adapter (US/EU/UK/AU power plug options available).

Operating Instructions
The controller operates via the Tuya Smart Life mobile application. Ensure your device is connected to your home WiFi network.
1. App Interface Overview
The app provides a clear interface to monitor and control your water levels. You can see the current water level percentage, switch between working modes, and manage alarm settings.

2. Working Modes
The controller supports two primary working modes:
- Add Water Mode: When the water level drops below a preset threshold (e.g., 25%), the pump (connected to Relay 1) will activate to add water until the level reaches another preset threshold (e.g., 100%).
- Pump Water Mode: When the water level rises above a preset threshold (e.g., 100%), the pump (connected to Relay 1) will activate to pump out water until the level drops to another preset threshold (e.g., 25%).

3. Alarm Notifications
You can enable alarm notifications for both upper and lower water level limits. These alerts will be pushed directly to your smartphone, ensuring you are immediately aware of any critical changes in water level.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your GONLEN Water Level Sensor, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power: Ensure the DC12V power adapter is securely connected and receiving power. Check the power outlet.
- WiFi Connection Issues: Verify your WiFi network is active and the controller is within range. Restart your router and the controller. Ensure the app is updated to the latest version.
- Inaccurate Water Level Readings:
- Check that all sensor probes are correctly installed and securely connected to the controller.
- Ensure the metal part of the probes is not touching the PVC pipe or any other conductive material that could interfere with readings.
- Inspect probes for any damage or corrosion that might affect their conductivity. Clean if necessary.
- Pump/Heater Not Activating:
- Verify that the pump or heater is correctly wired to the appropriate relay output (Relay 1 for pump, Relay 2 for heater protection).
- Check the settings in the mobile app to ensure the correct work mode ("Add water" or "Pump water") is selected and the water level thresholds are set appropriately.
- Confirm that the pump/heater itself is functional by testing it independently.
- No Alarm Notifications: Check app notification settings on your smartphone and within the Tuya Smart Life app. Ensure "Alarm Enable" is toggled on in the app.
If problems persist, consult the manufacturer's support resources or contact customer service.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your water level controller:
- Clean Probes: Periodically inspect and clean the sensor probes to prevent mineral buildup or corrosion, which can affect accuracy. Use a soft cloth and mild detergent if necessary.
- Check Wiring: Ensure all wiring connections remain secure and free from damage.
- Software Updates: Keep the Tuya Smart Life app updated to the latest version to benefit from new features and bug fixes.
- Environmental Conditions: Ensure the controller unit is installed in a dry, protected environment, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and excessive humidity.
