Follow these steps to assemble your Paruu breast pump before first use and after each cleaning:

  1. Install Silicone Diaphragm & Valve: Carefully place the silicone diaphragm onto the linker, then attach the valve to the bottom of the linker.
  2. Attach Linker to Pump Motor: Insert the assembled linker and valve into the designated slot on the pump motor unit. Ensure it fits securely.

5. Operation

5.1 Charging the Pump

Before first use, fully charge the breast pump. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the pump's charging port and a suitable power source. A full charge takes approximately 1.5 hours and provides about 140 minutes of operation (5-6 pumping sessions).

5.2 Pumping Modes and Levels

The Paruu breast pump features two distinct modes and five adjustable levels to optimize your pumping experience:

  • Mode 1: Stimulation/Massage Mode
This mode is characterized by fast and shallow suction, designed to stimulate milk let-down and initiate milk flow.
  • Mode 2: Suction Mode
This mode features slow and deep suction, intended for efficient milk expression once let-down has occurred.

The pump automatically switches from Stimulation Mode to Suction Mode after two minutes to mimic a baby's natural feeding pattern. You can manually switch between modes and adjust the intensity levels (1-5) using the control buttons on the pump motor unit to find your most comfortable and effective setting.

5.3 Pumping Guidelines

  • Ensure the pump is fully assembled and charged.
  • Position the flange correctly on your breast, ensuring your nipple is centered.
  • Turn on the pump and select your desired mode and intensity level.
  • Pump until your breasts feel empty or milk flow significantly slows.
  • After pumping, turn off the pump and carefully remove it from your breast.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance are essential for hygiene and the longevity of your breast pump. Disassemble all parts that come into contact with milk immediately after each use.

6.1 Cleaning Instructions

  • Disassembly: Separate the milk collector, flange, silicone diaphragm, valve, and linker from the pump motor unit.
  • Washing: Wash all disassembled parts (except the pump motor unit) with warm soapy water. Use a soft brush to clean hard-to-reach areas.
  • Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly under clean running water to remove all soap residue.
  • Drying: Air dry all parts completely on a clean drying rack. Do not use a cloth to dry, as this can transfer germs.
  • Sterilization: Periodically sterilize the milk-contacting parts by boiling them in water for 3-5 minutes or using a steam sterilizer. Ensure parts do not touch the bottom or sides of the pot to prevent damage.
  • Pump Motor Unit: The pump motor unit should never be submerged in water. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth if necessary.

Note: The breast pump components are NOT dishwasher safe.

6.2 Storage

After cleaning and drying, store the breast pump components in a clean, dry place. The milk collector comes with a lid to prevent contamination when storing expressed milk.
