Setup
1. Installation
- Mounting the Front Camera: Attach the front dash cam to your windshield, ideally behind the rearview mirror, ensuring it does not obstruct your view. Use the provided static sticker before applying the adhesive mount for easier removal.
- Connecting the Rear Camera: Connect the rear camera to the main unit using the provided cable. Route the cable neatly along the headliner and A-pillar to the rear of the vehicle. Ensure the rear camera is mounted to provide a clear view of the road behind.
- Cable Management: Use the pry tool to tuck cables securely under trim panels to avoid interference with driving and maintain a tidy interior.

2. Power Connection
Connect the dash cam to your vehicle's power source using the provided car charger. For continuous 24-hour parking monitoring, a hardwire kit (sold separately) is required to provide constant power even when the vehicle is off.
3. MicroSD Card
Insert a high-quality microSDXC card (up to 512GB, U3 or V30 recommended) into the designated slot on the dash cam. It is crucial to format the card within the dash cam's settings before first use and periodically thereafter to ensure stable recording performance.
Operation
1. Basic Recording
The dash cam automatically begins recording when powered on. It utilizes loop recording, which means when the storage card is full, the oldest unlocked files are overwritten by new recordings. This ensures continuous recording without manual intervention.
2. Emergency Recording
In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the built-in G-sensor will automatically detect the event and lock the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten. You can also manually trigger emergency recording and lock the current video by pressing the designated button on the remote control.

- "Video Start"
- "Video Stop"
- "Take Photo"
- "Turn On Wifi"
- "Lock The Video"

- View live footage from the dash cam.
- Play back recorded videos.
- Download video files to your phone.
- Edit and share video clips.

5. GPS Functionality
The integrated dual GPS system accurately records your vehicle's time, route, and speed. This data can be viewed and analyzed using the VANTRUE Viewer software on a computer or within the mobile app, providing crucial information in case of incidents.

6. Parking Mode
The E2 Dash Cam offers an advanced buffered parking mode. When motion is detected, it records 5 seconds prior to the event, during the event, and 30 seconds after, ensuring comprehensive coverage. It also features low-light detection for enhanced night vision in parking mode. For 24-hour parking surveillance, a continuous power supply via a hardwire kit (sold separately) is required.

7. Optional CPL Filter
An optional Circular Polarizing Lens (CPL) filter (sold separately) can be attached to the front camera. This filter significantly reduces glare and reflections from the windshield and road surface, improving video clarity and making details like license plates and road signs more legible, especially during bright daylight conditions.

Maintenance
1. Firmware Updates
Keep your dash cam's firmware up to date to ensure optimal performance and access to new features. Firmware updates can be performed conveniently over-the-air (OTA) via the VANTRUE Cam App.
2. MicroSD Card Management
Regularly format your microSD card (at least once a month) through the dash cam's settings menu. This helps prevent data corruption and ensures smooth recording. Replace the microSD card if you experience frequent errors or recording issues.
Troubleshooting
- Issue: Illegible License Plates at Night
Solution: While WDR technology enhances night vision, direct illumination from headlights can still cause glare. Consider the optional CPL filter for daytime glare reduction, which may also help in some low-light conditions by reducing reflections. Ensure the windshield is clean.
- Issue: Micro Stutters in Video
Solution: Ensure you are using a high-quality microSD card with the recommended specifications (e.g., U3, V30 or higher). Formatting the card regularly can also help maintain performance.
- Issue: Voice Commands Not Always Responding
Solution: Ensure the environment is quiet. Speak clearly and directly towards the dash cam. Adjust voice command sensitivity in the settings if available. Remember, voice commands are English-only.
- Issue: Dash Cam Not Powering On / Random Shutdowns
Solution: Use the original Vantrue charging cable or a Vantrue buck cable. Some fast-charging USB-C cables may supply higher voltages than the camera supports, causing it to shut down for safety.
- Issue: Parking Mode Not Working for 24 Hours
Solution: 24-hour parking monitoring requires a continuous power supply, typically achieved with a hardwire kit (sold separately). Standard cigarette lighter connections usually cut power when the engine is off.
