Setup and Installation

This faucet is designed for deck mount installation with a single hole. Ensure your sink or countertop has the appropriate drilling before proceeding.

Before You Begin:

  • Turn off the main water supply.
  • Clear the area under the sink for access.
  • Ensure all included components are present.
  • Tools required (not included): Adjustable wrench, plumber's putty or silicone sealant, screwdriver.

Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare the Mounting Surface: Clean the faucet hole area on the sink or countertop. Apply a thin bead of plumber's putty or silicone sealant around the base of the faucet or the underside of the escutcheon plate (if applicable) to create a watertight seal.
  2. Install the Faucet: Insert the faucet body through the mounting hole from above the sink. Ensure the faucet is properly oriented.
  3. Secure the Faucet: From underneath the sink, slide the rubber washer, metal washer, and mounting nut onto the threaded shank of the faucet. Hand-tighten the mounting nut, then use an adjustable wrench to firmly secure the faucet to the deck. Do not overtighten.
  4. Connect Water Supply Lines: Connect the hot and cold water supply lines to the corresponding inlets on the faucet shank. The faucet uses a 1/2-14 NPSM connection. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten connections, ensuring not to overtighten.
  5. Test for Leaks: Once all connections are secure, slowly turn on the main water supply. Check all connections for leaks. Operate the faucet handle to ensure proper water flow and temperature control.

Operating Instructions

Your Kingston Brass KB1488BL faucet features a single handle for controlling both water flow and temperature.

  • Water Flow Control: Lift the handle to turn on the water and increase flow. Lower the handle to decrease flow and turn off the water.
  • Temperature Control: Move the handle to the left for hot water and to the right for cold water. Adjust the handle position between left and right to achieve the desired water temperature.
  • Spout Rotation: The faucet features a rotating swivel spout, allowing you to direct water flow as needed within your sink area.
  • Flow Rate: The faucet delivers a flow rate of 1.8 Gallons Per Minute (6.8 Liters Per Minute) at 60 PSI.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and appearance of your faucet. The faucet is constructed from solid brass and features a corrosion-resistant brushed nickel finish.

Cleaning the Finish:

  • Use a soft, damp cloth and mild soap to clean the faucet surface.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the brushed nickel finish.
  • Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.

Cartridge Maintenance:

The faucet uses a durable stainless steel ball type cartridge. If you experience persistent drips or difficulty controlling water flow/temperature, the cartridge may need inspection or replacement. Consult a qualified plumber or contact Kingston Brass customer support for assistance.
