3. Setup

Follow these steps to connect your Ezcap288 device.

1. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the DC IN port of the Ezcap288 and then into a power outlet.
2. Connect Input Source:
   • HDMI Source: Connect an HDMI cable from your video source (e.g., game console, set-top box, PC) to the HDMI IN port on the Ezcap288.
   • AV Source: For older devices, connect the composite video and stereo audio cables from your source (e.g., VCR, camcorder) to the AV IN port using the provided AV adapter.
3. Connect Display (Optional): If you wish to view the input signal on a TV or monitor, connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI OUT port on the Ezcap288 to your display device.
4. Connect USB Storage: Insert a USB flash drive or external hard drive (formatted to FAT32) into the USB HOST port. Ensure sufficient storage space is available for your recordings.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Recording Video

The Ezcap288 offers simple one-button recording.

1. Ensure all connections are secure as described in the Setup section.
2. Power on the Ezcap288. The status indicator light will illuminate.
3. Start playing the video content from your source device.
4. To begin recording, press the REC button once. The status indicator light will turn red, indicating that recording is in progress.
5. To stop recording, press the REC button again. The status indicator light will return to its previous state (e.g., blue or green, depending on the model and status).
6. Your recorded video files will be saved to the connected USB storage device.

4.2 Using the Microphone Input

You can add live commentary or voice-over to your video recordings.

1. Connect a 3.5mm TRS standard microphone headset to the MIC IN port before starting a recording.
2. Ensure the microphone is properly positioned and functioning.
3. Start recording as described in Section 4.1. Your voice from the microphone will be mixed with the video's audio.
