Figure 3: Extraction vs. Recirculation Ventilation Modes.

  1. Recirculation Mode: Filters cooking grease and odors through the included carbon filter (CC170) and returns purified air to the kitchen. This mode is suitable when external venting is not possible.
  2. Exhaust Mode: Fumes and odors are ducted out of the home via the aluminum exhaust pipe. This mode requires an external vent opening.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your cooker hood.

5.1 Cleaning the Aluminium Grease Filters

  • The aluminium grease filters should be cleaned regularly (approximately every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage).
  • To remove, push the latch on the filter and pull downwards.
  • Clean the filters by hand in warm soapy water or in a dishwasher on a low-temperature cycle.
  • Ensure filters are completely dry before re-installing.

5.2 Replacing the Carbon Filter (Recirculation Mode Only)

  • If using the hood in recirculation mode, the carbon filter (Model No: CC170) needs to be replaced periodically (typically every 3-6 months, depending on usage).
  • To replace, remove the aluminium grease filters first.
  • Twist or unclip the old carbon filter from its housing.
  • Install the new carbon filter, ensuring it is securely in place.
  • Carbon filters cannot be washed or regenerated.

5.3 Cleaning the Exterior

  • Clean the tempered glass and stainless steel surfaces with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
  • Avoid using abrasive pads, corrosive detergents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
  • Always wipe in the direction of the stainless steel grain.
