  4. Connect Input Power: Connect the main power supply cable (230V/50Hz) to the designated input terminals (L/N/PE) on the 6-pole terminal strip. Ensure Live (L), Neutral (N), and Protective Earth (PE) are correctly matched. The Protective Earth connection is essential for Class 1 luminaires.
  5. Connect Output 1 (Dimmable): Connect the cable for your dimmable lamp to the first output terminals (L/N/PE). This output is controlled by the slider for dimming.
  6. Connect Output 2 (Switched): Connect the cable for your non-dimmable lamp (e.g., a reading lamp) to the second output terminals (L/N). This output is controlled by the separate ON/OFF button.
  7. Secure Wires: Ensure all wires are securely fastened in the screw terminals. The minimum wire cross-section is 3x 1.0 mm², and the outer diameter of the connecting cables should not exceed 6.5mm.
  8. Install Strain Relief: Properly install the strain relief mechanisms for all connected cables to prevent accidental pulling or damage to the connections.
  9. Close Housing: Carefully close the dimmer housing and secure it with the screws.
  10. Restore Power: Once installation is complete and verified, restore power to the circuit.

  • Orientation Light: The dimmer features an orientation light, which may illuminate to help locate the switch in the dark.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: To clean the dimmer, wipe the exterior with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or wet cloths, as this may damage the device or pose an electrical hazard.
  • Fuse Replacement: The dimmer contains an internal 2A/250V fuse. If the dimmer stops functioning, the fuse may need replacement. Disconnect power before opening the housing and replace the fuse with one of identical type and rating (2A/250V).
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the cables and housing for any signs of wear or damage. If damage is found, discontinue use and have the device inspected by a qualified professional.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ChiliTec 23522 dimmer, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Light Not Turning On:
    • Check if the main power supply is connected and active.
    • Verify all wiring connections are secure and correct according to the diagram.
    • Ensure the connected lamp is functional and properly installed.
    • Check the internal 2A/250V fuse and replace if blown (see Maintenance section).
  • Light Not Dimming or Flickering:
    • Confirm that the connected lamp is explicitly marked as dimmable. Not all LED lamps are dimmable.
    • Ensure the lamp's wattage is within the specified range for the dimmer (3-100W for LEDs, 75-300W for incandescent/halogen).
    • Check for loose wiring connections.
    • If using LED lamps, some LED types may exhibit minor flickering at very low dimming levels due to compatibility.
  • No Power to Switched Output:
    • Ensure the ON/OFF button is pressed to the 'ON' position.
    • Verify wiring connections for the second output.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, please contact customer support.
