3. Setup

Before operating the rotary hammer drill, ensure all components are properly assembled and secured.

3.1 Attaching the 360° Rotatable Handle

  1. Loosen the handle clamp by rotating it counter-clockwise.
  2. Slide the handle onto the front barrel of the drill.
  3. Adjust the handle to your desired position for optimal comfort and control.
  4. Tighten the handle clamp by rotating it clockwise until it is securely fastened.

3.2 Installing the Depth Gauge

  1. Insert the depth gauge into the hole on the handle clamp.
  2. Adjust the depth gauge to the desired drilling depth by sliding it in or out.
  3. Ensure the depth gauge is securely positioned before drilling.

3.3 Inserting SDS-Plus Bits

  1. Clean the shank of the SDS-Plus bit.
  2. Pull back the SDS-Plus chuck collar.
  3. Insert the bit into the chuck until it clicks into place.
  4. Release the collar. Pull on the bit to ensure it is locked. A slight back-and-forth movement is normal for SDS-Plus systems.

4. Operating Instructions

The WORKPRO Rotary Hammer Drill offers four distinct operating modes, selected via the function switch. Always ensure the tool is unplugged when changing modes or bits.

4.1 Function Selection

Rotate the four-function switch located on the side of the drill to select the desired mode:

  • Hammer Drilling: For drilling into concrete, brick, and masonry. Combines rotation and hammering action.
  • Hammer (Chipping): For light demolition, chiseling, and breaking concrete or tile. Hammering action only, no rotation.
  • Drilling: For drilling into wood, metal, and plastic. Rotation only, no hammering action.
  • Chisel Adjust: Allows for adjusting the angle of the chisel bit without hammering or rotation.

4.2 Power On/Off and Speed Control

  • To Start: Press the On/Off switch (trigger).
  • To Stop: Release the On/Off switch.
  • Variable Speed: The speed is controlled by the pressure applied to the On/Off switch. Pressing lightly results in lower speed, while pressing fully increases the speed.
  • Lock-on Button: For continuous operation, press the On/Off switch fully and then press the lock-on button. To release, press the On/Off switch again.

  2. Locate the brush caps on the sides of the motor housing.
  3. Unscrew the brush caps using a flathead screwdriver.

  5. Insert new carbon brushes, ensuring they are oriented correctly.
  6. Screw the brush caps back on securely.
