SCUBAPRO Smart + Pro Transmitter Instruction Manual

Comprehensive guide for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your SCUBAPRO Smart + Pro Transmitter.

1. Product Overview

The SCUBAPRO Smart + Pro Transmitter provides convenient air integration for your dive computer, eliminating the need for a dangling hose. This low-profile device screws directly into a high-pressure port on your first stage regulator. It wirelessly relays critical data, including tank pressure and true remaining bottom time (RBT), to your compatible dive computer screen. A built-in LED on the cap offers a quick visual estimate of tank pressure, allowing you to check gas levels without activating your dive computer.

Key Features:

2. Setup and Installation

2.1. Transmitter Installation

The Smart + Pro Transmitter is designed for direct attachment to a high-pressure (HP) port on your first stage regulator. Ensure the O-ring is properly seated and free from damage before installation. Hand-tighten the transmitter firmly into an available HP port. Do not overtighten. Once installed, check for any leaks by slowly pressurizing your system.

2.2. Pairing with Dive Computer

The transmitter needs to be paired with your compatible SCUBAPRO dive computer (HUD, G2, A2, Luna 2.0, or G3) only once during its initial use. Refer to your specific dive computer's instruction manual for detailed pairing procedures. Generally, this involves activating the pairing mode on your dive computer and then activating the transmitter (usually by pressurizing the first stage) to allow the devices to establish a connection. The coded transmission technology ensures secure and interference-free communication.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. LED Indicator Status

The built-in LED on the top of the transmitter cap provides a visual indication of approximate tank pressure without requiring the dive computer to be active. This is useful for quick checks before a dive.

3.2. Data Transmission

Once paired and the first stage is pressurized, the transmitter continuously sends tank pressure data to your dive computer. Your dive computer then calculates and displays true Remaining Bottom Time (RBT) based on your current depth, ascent rate, and air consumption. Always monitor your dive computer for precise pressure readings and RBT calculations during a dive.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Battery Replacement

The SCUBAPRO Smart + Pro Transmitter is powered by a user-replaceable CR-2PE/BN lithium battery. The battery typically lasts for three years or 250 to 300 hours of diving, whichever comes first. When the battery level is low, your dive computer will display a warning. To replace the battery:

  1. Depressurize your dive system completely.
  2. Carefully unscrew the battery cap on the transmitter.
  3. Remove the old battery and inspect the O-ring for any damage. Replace if necessary.
  4. Insert a new CR-2PE/BN lithium battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  5. Securely screw the battery cap back on.
  6. After replacement, re-pressurize the system and verify the transmitter is functioning correctly and communicating with your dive computer.

4.2. Care and Storage

After each dive, rinse the transmitter thoroughly with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and other debris. Allow it to air dry completely before storage. Store the transmitter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid exposing the transmitter to harsh chemicals or solvents.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your SCUBAPRO Smart + Pro Transmitter, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

If these steps do not resolve the issue, contact SCUBAPRO customer support or an authorized service center.
