5. Installation (Setup)
Before proceeding, ensure you have read and understood the Safety Information section.
5.1 Pre-Installation Steps
- Turn off the electrical power at the circuit breaker or fuse box to avoid electrical shock.
- Unpack the fixture and all components. Inspect for any shipping damage.
- Determine the desired mounting location and method (trunnion or knuckle/slipfitter).
5.2 Wiring Instructions
The fixture is designed for 110V AC input. Follow these steps for electrical connections:
- Connect the black wire from the fixture to the live (hot) supply wire.
- Connect the white wire from the fixture to the neutral supply wire.
- Connect the green (or bare copper) wire from the fixture to the ground supply wire.
- If using 0-10V dimming (optional), connect the purple wire to the dimmer's Dim+ terminal and the gray wire to the dimmer's Dim- terminal. If not using dimming, cap and insulate these wires individually.
- Secure all wire connections with appropriate UL-listed wire connectors and ensure they are properly insulated.
5.3 Mounting the Fixture
The luminaire includes both a trunnion mount and a 1/2" knuckle/slipfitter mount for versatile installation.

Figure 2: Luminaire with Knuckle Mount. This image shows the flood light attached to a knuckle mount, suitable for pole or wall mounting.

Figure 3: Luminaire with Trunnion Mount. This image displays the flood light with a flat trunnion mount, ideal for surface mounting.
- Select Mount: Choose either the trunnion mount for flat surface installation or the 1/2" knuckle/slipfitter mount for pole or conduit attachment.
- Attach Mount: Securely fasten the chosen mount to the desired surface using appropriate hardware (not included). Ensure the mount is stable and can support the fixture's weight.
- Attach Fixture: Connect the luminaire to the installed mount. For the knuckle mount, thread the fixture onto the 1/2" NPT opening. For the trunnion mount, secure the fixture to the bracket using the provided bolts.
- Adjust Angle: Loosen the adjustment screws on the mount to set the desired lighting angle. Tighten securely once adjusted.
- Seal Connections: For outdoor installations, ensure all electrical connections and mounting points are properly sealed against moisture.
6. Operation
6.1 Power On
Once installation is complete and all connections are secure, restore power at the circuit breaker. The flood light should illuminate.
6.2 Color Temperature (CCT) Selection
This fixture allows you to select between three color temperatures: 3000K (Warm White), 4000K (Cool White), and 5000K (Daylight).
To change the CCT, locate the small switch on the side of the fixture, often protected by a cap. Use a small tool to slide the switch to your desired setting. Change the CCT while the fixture is powered on to see the immediate effect. Disconnect power before opening any protective caps.

6.3 Dimming Function (0-10V)
The luminaire is compatible with 0-10V dimming systems. If connected to a compatible 0-10V dimmer, you can adjust the light output intensity. Ensure the purple and gray dimming wires are correctly connected to the dimmer.
6.4 Photo Sensor (Dusk-to-Dawn)
This fixture may include an integrated photo sensor, typically located on the top or side of the housing, which enables automatic dusk-to-dawn operation. Ensure the photo sensor is not obstructed by objects or light from other sources, as this can interfere with its proper function.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your flood light.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the lens and exterior housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or high-pressure water, as these can damage the finish or internal components.
- Inspection: Annually inspect the fixture for any signs of damage, loose wiring, or corrosion. Ensure all mounting hardware remains tight.
- No User-Serviceable Parts: The LED light source is integrated and not user-replaceable. Do not attempt to open the sealed housing.
8. Troubleshooting
If your Sylvania LED Wide Flood Light Luminaire is not functioning correctly, refer to the following common issues and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on | No power supply Loose wiring connections Photo sensor obstructed (if applicable) | Check circuit breaker and power source. Verify all wiring connections are secure. Ensure photo sensor is clear and not covered during daylight. |
| Incorrect color temperature | CCT selection switch set incorrectly | Adjust the CCT selection switch to the desired setting. |
| Light flickers or dims unexpectedly | Loose wiring connections Incompatible or faulty dimmer (if applicable) | Check and secure all wiring connections. Ensure a compatible 0-10V dimmer is used and wired correctly. Test with a non-dimming switch if possible. |
| Water inside fixture | Improper sealing during installation | Immediately disconnect power. Inspect seals and connections. If issue persists, contact support. |
