5. Setup

5.1. SIM Card and Battery Installation

Before using your phone, you must install the SIM card(s) and battery.

1. Remove the Back Cover: Gently pry open the back cover of the phone.
2. Insert SIM Card(s): Locate the SIM card slots. This phone supports Dual SIM. Carefully slide your activated SIM card(s) into the designated slots with the gold contacts facing down. Ensure they are securely in place.
3. Insert MicroSD Card (Optional): If you wish to expand storage for photos or MP3s, insert a MicroSD card into its dedicated slot.
4. Insert Battery: Align the battery contacts with the phone's contacts and gently press the battery into the compartment.
5. Replace Back Cover: Snap the back cover firmly into place.

5.2. Charging the Phone

For initial use, fully charge the phone's battery.

1. Using the Charging Dock: Place the phone into the charging dock, ensuring the charging contacts align. Connect the charging cord to the dock and then to a power outlet.
2. Direct Charging: Alternatively, connect the charging cord directly to the phone's charging port and then to a power outlet.

5.3. Powering On/Off

• To Power On: Press and hold the Power/End Call button until the screen lights up.
• To Power Off: Press and hold the Power/End Call button until the power-off options appear, then select 'Power Off'.

5.4. SIM Card Compatibility Note

This phone is designed to work with specific 4G GSM carriers. If you are activating a new SIM card, it is recommended to provide the IMEI number of an older phone or a smartphone to your carrier for activation. Then, insert the activated SIM card into this phone. Compatible carriers include T-Mobile (Prepaid plan), Metro by T-Mobile, Tello Mobile, Ultra Mobile, SpeedTalk, and Mint Mobile. This phone is not compatible with AT&T or its MVNOs (e.g., Cricket, Pure TalkUSA, Consumer Cellular, H2O), nor with any CDMA network carriers like Verizon, Sprint, Boost, PagePlus, or U.S. Cellular.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Basic Call Functions

• Making a Call: Dial the number using the keypad and press the Call button.
• Answering a Call: When the phone rings, open the flip or press the Call button.
• Ending a Call: Close the flip or press the End Call button.
• Adjusting Call Volume: Use the volume buttons on the side of the phone during a call.

6.2. SOS Emergency Calls

The SOS button allows for quick emergency contact. Up to 5 family numbers can be programmed.

1. Setting SOS Numbers: Navigate to the SOS settings in the phone menu to add up to 5 emergency contacts.
2. Initiating SOS Call: Press and hold the SOS button on the back of the phone for a few seconds. The phone will automatically call the programmed emergency contacts in sequence until one answers. It will also send an emergency SMS to these contacts.
