2. Connecting the USB Receiver
The SC402BT connects wirelessly via its dedicated USB receiver. This receiver facilitates communication within a 100-meter range.
- Insert the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer or host device.
- The system will automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. This may take a few moments.

3. Pairing the Scanner with the Receiver
The scanner and receiver are typically pre-paired. If pairing is lost or you are connecting a new scanner to an existing receiver, follow these steps:
- Ensure the USB receiver is plugged into your computer.
- Turn on the barcode scanner.
- Scan the specific pairing barcode provided in the quick start guide or on a dedicated pairing card (if applicable). Refer to your product's specific pairing barcode for successful connection.
- A successful pairing will be indicated by an audible beep from the scanner and/or a change in the indicator light status.
Note: One receiver can support up to 99 scanners, making it suitable for multi-scanner environments.
Operating the Scanner
1. Basic Scanning Operation
To scan a barcode:
- Point the scanner's window at the barcode you wish to scan.
- Press and hold the trigger button. A red aiming line or illumination will appear.
- Position the aiming line across the entire barcode.
- Once the barcode is successfully read, the scanner will emit a beep and the data will be transmitted to your connected device.

2. Scanning 2D and Mobile Barcodes
The SC402BT is capable of reading various 2D barcodes and barcodes displayed on mobile phone screens, including coupons, mobile tickets, and digital wallets. For optimal performance when scanning from screens, ensure the screen brightness is adequate and avoid glare.
3. Wireless Communication
The scanner maintains a stable wireless connection with the USB receiver up to 100 meters in open areas. Obstacles such as walls or other electronic devices may reduce this range. If the scanner moves out of range, it will store scanned data in its internal memory and transmit it once the connection is re-established.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Scanner
To ensure optimal scanning performance, keep the scanner's window clean. Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the scanning window.
2. Battery Care
- Recharge the battery when the low battery indicator is active.
- Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently to prolong its lifespan.
- Store the scanner in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Scanner not reading barcodes. | Barcode damaged or poorly printed; scanning window dirty; scanner out of range; scanner not paired. | Try scanning a different barcode; clean the scanning window; move closer to the receiver; re-pair the scanner. |
| No data transmitted to computer. | USB receiver not properly connected; scanner not paired; software issue on host device. | Ensure receiver is firmly plugged in; re-pair scanner; check host device's input settings or restart application. |
| Scanner not turning on. | Battery is low or depleted. | Charge the scanner fully. |
| Short wireless range. | Environmental interference; physical obstructions. | Reduce interference from other wireless devices; ensure clear line of sight between scanner and receiver. |
