2. Safety Information

4. Setup and Assembly
Your Shengmilo MX02S Electric Bike comes partially assembled. Follow these steps for final assembly:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
- Handlebar Installation: Attach the handlebar to the stem, ensuring it is centered and tightened securely.
- Front Wheel Installation: Install the front wheel, ensuring the disc brake rotor is correctly aligned with the caliper.
- Pedal Installation: Identify left (L) and right (R) pedals. Thread them into the crank arms (left pedal is reverse threaded). Tighten firmly.
- Seat Post and Saddle: Insert the seat post into the frame and adjust the saddle height for comfortable riding. Secure with the quick-release lever.
- Fender and Rear Rack Installation: Attach the front and rear fenders and the rear rack using the provided hardware.
- Battery Installation: Insert the battery into its compartment and ensure it clicks securely into place.
- Initial Charge: Fully charge the battery before your first ride. Connect the charger to the battery port and then to a power outlet. The indicator light on the charger will change when fully charged.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
To power on the bike, press and hold the power button on the display. To power off, press and hold the same button.
5.2 Pedal Assist System (PAS)
The PAS provides motor assistance as you pedal. Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the display to adjust the assist level from 1 (lowest assist) to 5 (highest assist). Higher PAS levels provide more power and speed with less pedaling effort.
5.3 Throttle Operation
The twist throttle allows you to engage the motor without pedaling. Twist the throttle gently to accelerate. The speed achieved via throttle depends on the selected PAS level.
5.4 Display Functions
The HD display provides real-time information:
- Battery Level: Indicates remaining battery charge.
- Speed: Current riding speed.
- Mileage: Trip distance and total odometer.
- PAS Level: Current pedal assist setting.
- Lights: Indicator for headlights.
- Error Codes: Displays codes for system malfunctions.
- Gears: Current gear selection.
5.5 Riding Modes
- Pure Electric Mode: Use the throttle for motor power without pedaling.
- Auxiliary Pedal Mode (PAS): The motor assists your pedaling effort.

6. Maintenance

- Battery Care:
- Charge the battery fully after each ride, especially if storing for extended periods.

- Do not fully discharge the battery regularly.

- Brakes: Regularly inspect brake pads for wear and brake levers for proper function. Adjust or replace as needed. Ensure hydraulic fluid levels are adequate.
- Chain: Keep the chain clean and lubricated to prevent rust and ensure smooth shifting.
- Fasteners: Periodically check all bolts, nuts, and quick releases for tightness.
- Cleaning: Clean the bike with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid high-pressure washing directly on electrical components.
- Suspension: Inspect suspension components for damage and ensure smooth operation.
