Introduction
The PureGuardian H997W Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier is designed to improve air quality by dispersing a fine, cool mist into your environment. This unit features a large 1.6-gallon top-fill tank, providing extended operation for medium to large rooms. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all packing materials are discarded responsibly.
- Placement: Place the humidifier on a firm, flat, water-resistant surface at least 6 inches (15 cm) away from walls and furniture. Avoid placing it on carpet or near heat sources.
- Filling the Water Tank:
- Remove the top cover of the humidifier.
- Pour clean, cool tap water directly into the tank opening. The tank has a 1.6-gallon capacity.
- Do not exceed the maximum fill line indicated on the tank.
- Replace the top cover securely.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

Power On/Off
- Press the Power Button to turn the unit on or off. The display will illuminate when powered on.
Mist Level Control
- Press the Mist Level Button to cycle through three mist output speeds: Low, Medium, and High.
- The ultrasonic technology quietly disperses a fine mist, providing relief from dry air.
Humidistat (Smart Mist Sensor)
- Press the Humidistat Button to activate the smart mist sensor. This feature monitors ambient humidity levels and automatically adjusts the mist output to maintain your desired setting.
- Humidity settings range from 40% to 90% in increments of 5%.
- Press and hold the Humidistat button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature display.
12-Hour Timer
- Press the Timer Button to set the humidifier to operate for a specific duration, from 1 to 12 hours. The unit will automatically shut off once the set time has elapsed.
Aromatherapy Tray
- Locate the aromatherapy tray at the base of the unit.
- Pull out the tray and add a few drops of your preferred essential oil onto the included pad.
- Slide the tray back into place. The mist will diffuse the aroma into the air.

Low Water Indicator & Auto Shut-off
- A low water indicator light will illuminate when the tank needs refilling.
- The humidifier features an automatic shut-off function when the water level is too low, ensuring safety and preventing damage to the unit.
Maintenance
Regular cleaning is essential to maintain optimal performance and hygiene of your humidifier. The PureGuardian H997W includes Silver Clean Protection embedded in the tank to help keep it cleaner longer.
Daily Maintenance
- Empty the water tank and base daily.
- Rinse the tank and base with clean water.
- Wipe down all surfaces with a soft, damp cloth.
Weekly Cleaning
- Descaling: To remove mineral deposits, fill the tank with a mixture of 1 teaspoon of white vinegar and 1 gallon of water. Let it stand for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
- Cleaning the Base: Use a soft brush (such as the included cleaning brush) to gently clean the ultrasonic nebulizer and other components in the base.
- Aromatherapy Tray: Clean the aromatherapy tray and pad with warm water and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry.
Care instructions: Hand Wash. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
Troubleshooting
- No Mist Output: Check if the unit is plugged in and powered on. Ensure the water tank is filled and properly seated on the base. The low water indicator may be on.
- Unusual Odor: Empty the tank and clean it thoroughly. Replace with fresh, cool water. If using essential oils, ensure the aromatherapy tray is clean.
- Excessive Humidity: Adjust the humidistat setting to a lower desired humidity level or reduce the mist output speed.
- Water Leakage: Ensure the top cover is securely in place and the tank is properly aligned on the base. Check for any cracks or damage to the tank.
