5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Attendant Operation

The yuwell Transport Wheelchair is designed to be pushed by an attendant. Use the handles at the rear of the wheelchair for propulsion and steering.

5.2 Hand Brakes

The wheelchair is equipped with hand brakes for the attendant's control. Squeeze the levers on the handles to slow down or stop. Push the levers down to lock the brakes for parking or transfers. Always ensure brakes are locked when the wheelchair is stationary.

5.3 Maneuvering

The front wheels are designed to swivel 360 degrees, allowing for easy navigation in tight spaces. When encountering small obstacles or uneven surfaces, it may be necessary to slightly lift the front wheels to prevent snagging.

6. Folding and Transport

The wheelchair's lightweight and foldable design makes it convenient for travel and storage.

  1. Fold Footrests: Lift and fold the footrests upwards and inwards.
  2. Release Seat: Pull up on the center of the seat fabric or the designated strap to begin folding the seat.
  3. Collapse Frame: Push the two sides of the frame together until the wheelchair is fully collapsed. Ensure the locking arm is secured.
  4. Secure for Transport: Use the provided carry bag or straps to secure the folded wheelchair for transport. It can be carried on board airplanes or stored in vehicle trunks.

  • Wheel Inspection: Regularly check wheels for wear and tear. Ensure they spin freely and are free of debris.
  • Brake Check: Periodically test the hand brakes to ensure they are responsive and hold the wheelchair securely.
  • Fasteners: Check all bolts, screws, and fasteners regularly to ensure they are tight. Do not overtighten.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Wheelchair difficult to push: Check for debris in wheels, ensure brakes are fully disengaged, and verify tire pressure if applicable (this model uses solid tires).
  • Brakes not holding: Inspect brake cables and mechanisms for damage or looseness. If issues persist, contact customer support.
  • Folding mechanism stiff: Ensure all components are aligned. Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to moving joints if necessary.
