Safety Information
- Always use gloves when handling compost materials.
- Avoid touching your face or mouth during the composting process.
- Keep the composter clean and dry to prevent the growth of harmful microorganisms.
- Be aware that composting may attract pests; consider using a composter with pest prevention features.
- Always follow local regulations for composting.
Setup
Before beginning, select a suitable location for your compost tumbler. The ideal spot is easily accessible, preferably in partial sun to aid the heating process, and away from living areas to minimize potential odors or pests.
The composter is designed with durable materials to withstand outdoor elements. Its elevated design, sitting 1.5 feet off the ground, aids in pest prevention and allows for easy retrieval of finished compost.

Operating Instructions
1. Adding Materials
The dual-chamber design allows for continuous composting. You can add new ingredients to one side while the other side is curing. Use the sliding doors to easily load and unload materials.

Maintain a balance of "brown" (carbon-rich) and "green" (nitrogen-rich) materials. A general guideline is a 2:1 ratio of brown to green materials for optimal decomposition.
- Brown Materials: Dried leaves, straw, wood chips, shredded paper, cardboard.
- Green Materials: Fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, tea bags, grass clippings, plant trimmings.
2. Turning the Tumbler
The large, built-in handle with a gear system requires minimal effort to turn the barrel. Turn the compost 5-10 rotations at least 2-3 times a week to mix and aerate the materials thoroughly. Internal mixing bars further assist in aerating the material, accelerating decomposition.

3. Knowing When Compost is Ready
Finished compost will be dark, crumbly, and have an earthy smell. Once ready, it can be emptied into a bucket, wheelbarrow, or tarp for use in your garden.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your compost tumbler.
- Moisture Control: Check that the compost is slightly damp. If it feels too dry, add water. If it's too wet, add more brown materials.
- Regular Turning: Continue to turn the composter 2-3 times a week to ensure proper aeration and mixing.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the composter with mild soap and water to remove any buildup. Ensure the aerating vents are clear of obstructions.
