3. Setup and Connection

The RoyPow C45 charger offers two types of connectors for versatile use: alligator clamps and ring terminals.

Choosing the Right Connector

  • Alligator Clamps: Ideal for temporary connections to battery terminals, often used for automotive or marine batteries.
  • Ring Terminals: Suitable for semi-permanent installations, providing a secure connection to battery posts.

Connection Steps

  1. Select Connector: Choose either the alligator clamps or ring terminals based on your application.
  2. Connect to Battery:
    • Connect the red (+) connector to the positive (+) battery terminal.
    • Connect the black (-) connector to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    • Ensure connections are secure and free from corrosion.
  3. Connect to Charger: Plug the chosen connector cable into the RoyPow C45 charger unit.
  4. Connect to Power: Plug the AC power cord into the charger unit, then plug the other end into a standard wall outlet (100-240V AC).

4. Operating Instructions

Once properly connected, the RoyPow C45 charger will automatically begin the charging process. It features intelligent detection and charging stages.

Indicator Lights

The charger is equipped with LED indicators to display its status:

  • Power Indicator (Green LED): Illuminates when the charger is connected to AC power.
  • Charging Indicator (Red LED): Illuminates when the battery is actively charging.
  • Charged/Maintain Indicator (Green LED): Illuminates when the battery is fully charged and the charger has switched to maintenance (trickle charge) mode.

Charging Process

  1. After connecting the charger to the battery and power outlet, the Power Indicator (Green) will light up.
  2. The Charging Indicator (Red) will illuminate, indicating that charging is in progress.
  3. Once the battery reaches full charge, the Charging Indicator (Red) will turn off, and the Charged/Maintain Indicator (Green) will light up. The charger will then automatically switch to trickle charge mode to maintain the battery's optimal state without overcharging.

The charger provides a 14.4V charge voltage and 3A charge current for efficient charging.

Dead Battery Activation

This charger is capable of activating deeply discharged batteries. If a 12V battery is over-discharged and its voltage drops to as low as 1 volt, the RoyPow C45 can initiate a recovery process to bring it back to a chargeable state. This auto-repair function helps extend battery life.
