2. Filling the Ink Tanks

The EcoTank L6260 uses integrated ink tanks. Follow these steps to fill them:

  1. Open the ink tank unit cover on the right side of the printer.
  2. Uncap the ink bottle for the corresponding color (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow). The bottles are designed with unique nozzles to prevent incorrect filling.
  3. Insert the ink bottle into the correct tank opening. The ink will automatically flow into the tank. Do not squeeze the bottle.
  4. Once the tank is full, remove the bottle and recap it. Close the ink tank unit cover.

4. Software Installation and Network Connection

Insert the software CD-ROM into your computer's drive or download the latest drivers and software from the official Epson support website. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the necessary software. During installation, you will be prompted to connect the printer to your computer via USB or to a network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

  • Wi-Fi Connection: Select Wi-Fi setup on the printer's control panel or through the software. Follow the prompts to connect to your wireless network.
  • Ethernet Connection: Connect an Ethernet cable from the printer's LAN port to your router or network hub.
  • USB Connection: Connect a USB cable from the printer to your computer.

For mobile printing, download the Epson Smart Panel app from your device's app store. The printer also supports Apple AirPrint™ and Mopria™ Print Service for direct printing from compatible smartphones and tablets.

2. Printing Documents and Photos

From your computer or mobile device, open the document or photo you wish to print. Select "Print" from the application's menu. In the print dialog box, select your Epson EcoTank L6260 printer. Adjust settings such as paper size, print quality, and color options as needed. Click "Print" to start the printing process.

3. Scanning Documents

Place the document face-down on the scanner glass or use the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) if available. On the printer's control panel, select "Scan" or initiate the scan from your computer using the Epson Scan software. Choose your scan destination (e.g., computer, cloud service, email) and desired settings (e.g., resolution, color mode). Press the scan button.

4. Copying Documents

Place the document face-down on the scanner glass. On the printer's control panel, select "Copy". Adjust settings such as number of copies, paper size, and quality. Press the copy button to begin.

5. Auto-Duplex Printing

The L6260 supports automatic two-sided printing. When printing from your computer, select the duplex printing option in the printer driver settings. This feature helps save paper and is ideal for reports and documents.

Maintenance

1. Checking and Refilling Ink Levels

Regularly check the ink levels through the transparent ink tanks on the front of the printer or via the Epson Smart Panel app/printer status monitor on your computer. Refill ink tanks when levels are low to prevent air from entering the ink tubes, which can affect print quality.

2. Print Head Cleaning

If print quality declines (e.g., missing lines, faded colors), perform a print head cleaning. This can be done from the printer's control panel under "Maintenance" or through the printer utility software on your computer. This process clears clogged nozzles.

3. Nozzle Check

Before performing a head cleaning, run a nozzle check to confirm if cleaning is necessary. This prints a pattern that shows if all nozzles are firing correctly.

4. Paper Path Cleaning

If you experience smudges or streaks on your prints, the paper path may need cleaning. Refer to the printer's on-screen menu or software for options to clean the paper rollers.

5. Firmware Updates

Periodically check the Epson support website for firmware updates. Firmware updates can improve printer performance, add new features, or resolve known issues. Follow the instructions provided by Epson carefully when performing an update.
