3. Setup and Installation
The ORICO Dual M.2 SSD Enclosure features a tool-free installation process. Follow these steps to install your M.2 SSDs:
- Slide and Pull Out: Slide the button on the upper cover and gently pull the PCBA board out of the enclosure.
- Apply Thermal Accessories: Stick the thermal pad onto your M.2 SSD, then place the cooling vest on top of the thermal pad. This aids in heat dissipation.
- Insert SSD: Carefully insert your M.2 SSD into the appropriate slot (NVMe M-Key or SATA B+M Key). Secure the SSD with a rubber cap/buckle.
- Reinsert PCBA Board: Slide the PCBA board with the installed SSD back into the aluminum enclosure until it clicks into place.

Important Note: When installing an SSD, be careful of static electricity and handle components gently to avoid damage. Ensure proper backup of all data on the SSD before initial use to prevent data loss.
4. Operating Instructions
After installing your SSD(s) into the enclosure, connect the device to your computer or compatible device using the provided USB-C to C/USB-A 2-in-1 data cable. The enclosure supports plug-and-play functionality, requiring no additional drivers.
- Independent Operation: Each M.2 slot operates independently. The 10Gbps bay is for NVMe SSDs, and the 6Gbps bay is for M.2 SATA SSDs. You can connect two data cables simultaneously to access both SSDs.
- Data Transfer Speeds: Expect speeds up to 10Gbps for NVMe SSDs and up to 6Gbps for M.2 SATA SSDs.
- First-Time Use: For new SSDs, they must be partitioned and formatted before the operating system can recognize them. Ensure the hard disk format is consistent with the SSD format supported by your system.
- Safe Disconnection: During data transfer, do not unplug the M.2 SSD case from the PC. Always safely eject or unplug the cable before removing the SSD after use to prevent data loss.

7. Troubleshooting
- SSD Not Recognized: If your new SSD is not recognized by your device, ensure it has been properly partitioned and formatted for first use. Confirm that the hard disk format is consistent with the SSD format supported by your operating system.
- Data Loss Prevention: Always back up data before performing any operations on the SSD. Avoid unplugging the enclosure during data transfer.
- Overheating: Ensure the cooling vest and thermal pads are correctly installed on the SSD to facilitate proper heat dissipation.
- Connection Issues: Verify that the USB cable is securely connected to both the enclosure and your device. Try a different USB port or cable if issues persist.
