  • High-Quality Components: Constructed with pressure-resistant and durable materials, ensuring high acquisition accuracy and reliability.
  • Smart Monitoring: Allows users to check battery status and modify parameters at any time via a Bluetooth app or PC software.
  • Quality Assurance: ISO, FCC, RoHS, PSE, and CE approved for guaranteed quality and safety standards.

5. Setup and Installation

Careful installation is crucial for the proper functioning of the BMS. Follow these steps:

5.1 Tools Required

  • Soldering machine (recommended temperature: 662°F/350°C)
  • Scissors
  • Double-sided tape
  • Tin wire
  • Multimeter

5.2 Wiring Instructions

  1. Disconnect Power: Before any wiring, ensure all balance wires are disconnected from the battery pack and the BMS connection port.
  2. Weld Main Wires: Carefully weld the black (B-) and red (P-) main wires to the battery pack. Refer to the wiring diagram below for correct connections.
  3. Connect Balance Wires: After welding the main wires, connect the balance wires to the battery cells. Ensure each balance wire is connected to its corresponding cell voltage tap.
  4. Connect BMS Port: Once all balance wires are correctly welded and connected to the battery cells, connect the balance wire harness to the BMS connection port.
  5. Install Accessories: Install communication accessories such as the UART/Bluetooth module, RS485, or CAN module to the BMS.
  6. Positioning: Keep the red cooling surface side of the BMS uncovered to ensure proper heat dissipation. Use DALY matching balance wires (regular length 450 mm / 17.72 inch).

5.3 BMS Activation

The BMS can be activated using one of two methods:

  • Method 1: Press the activation button located on the battery board.
  • Method 2: Connect the battery pack to a charger to activate the BMS for the first time.

5.4 Initial Setup and Parameter Configuration

The BMS comes with default protection parameters for Li-ion/LiFePO4 batteries. However, it is essential to set the actual capacity (AH) of your battery pack using the Bluetooth app or PC software. Incorrect capacity settings will lead to inaccurate remaining power percentage readings. Other parameters can also be adjusted as needed.

The initial password for the smart board APP to change parameters is: 123456.

6. Operating Instructions

The DALY Smart BMS allows for convenient monitoring and parameter adjustment via a dedicated Bluetooth app or PC software.

6.1 Bluetooth App / PC Software Connection

Connect the provided Bluetooth module or UART cable to the BMS. Use the corresponding app on your smartphone or software on your PC to establish a connection. This allows you to:

  • Monitor real-time battery status (voltage, current, temperature, state of charge).
  • View individual cell voltages.
  • Adjust protection parameters (e.g., overcharge/overdischarge voltage, current limits).
  • Set the battery pack's capacity (AH) for accurate state of charge readings.

7. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your DALY Smart BMS:

  • Keep Cooling Surface Clear: Always ensure the red cooling surface of the BMS is uncovered and free from obstructions to allow for efficient heat dissipation.
  • Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect all wiring connections for tightness and signs of corrosion or damage.
  • Cleanliness: Keep the BMS unit clean and free from dust and debris. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning.
  • Environmental Conditions: Operate the BMS within its specified temperature and humidity ranges.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your DALY Smart BMS, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

  • BMS Not Activating: If the BMS does not activate after initial connection, try pressing the activation button on the board or connecting the battery pack to a charger.
  • No Power Output: Check all main power connections (B- and P-) for secure contact and correct polarity. Verify that the battery pack itself is charged.
  • Communication Issues: Ensure the Bluetooth module or UART cable is correctly connected to the BMS and your device. Restart the app/software and try reconnecting. Check device Bluetooth settings.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Confirm that the battery pack capacity (AH) has been correctly set in the BMS app/software.
  • Over-Protection Triggered: If the BMS is frequently triggering protection (e.g., overcurrent, overvoltage), review your system's load and charging parameters. Consult the app/software for specific fault codes or warnings.
  • Balance Issues: Ensure all balance wires are correctly connected to their respective cell voltage taps.
