2. Setup and First Use

2.1 Unpacking and Placement

  • Carefully remove the ice maker from its packaging.
  • Check that all accessories are present: ice scoop, ice bags, and ice basket.
  • Place the ice maker on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Ensure at least 6 inches (approximately 15 cm) of clearance around the sides and back of the unit for proper ventilation. This is crucial for efficient operation and to prevent overheating.
  • Allow the unit to stand upright for at least 1 hour before plugging it in. This allows the refrigerant to settle.

2.2 Initial Cleaning

Before first use, it is recommended to clean the ice maker. Use the self-cleaning function as described in the Maintenance section (Section 4.1).

2.3 Water Requirements

Use purified water for optimal ice quality and to prolong the life of your ice maker. Avoid using distilled water as it may affect the ice sensing mechanism.

  • For long-term storage, perform a self-cleaning cycle, drain all water, and ensure the unit is completely dry inside before storing in a cool, dry place.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Ice cubes sticking together: This can occur if ice melts slightly and refreezes. Use the included ice scoop to gently break them apart.
  • 'ADD WATER' indicator is on: The water reservoir is low. Refill with purified water.
  • 'ICE FULL' indicator is on: The ice basket is full. Remove some ice to resume production.
  • No ice production: Check power connection, water level, and ensure the unit has had sufficient time to settle after transport.
