Placement Guidelines

Optimal placement ensures accurate readings and reliable wireless communication.

  • Main Units (SC92 & SC93): Place indoors in a central location, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and vents that could affect temperature readings.
  • Wireless Outdoor Sensors:
    • Mount the sensor in a shaded area, protected from direct sunlight and precipitation, which can cause inaccurate readings.
    • Ensure the sensor is within the specified transmission range (up to 200ft in an open area) of its respective main unit.
    • Avoid placing near large metal objects, electrical appliances, or thick walls that may interfere with wireless signals.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the units and sensors with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both main units and outdoor sensors when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Ensure correct polarity.
  • Outdoor Sensor Protection: Periodically check the outdoor sensor for debris or moisture accumulation and clean as necessary. Ensure the battery compartment seal is intact.
