4. Setup Instructions
4.1 Installation on Standard Duplex Outlets
- Ensure the wall outlet is powered off at the circuit breaker before installation.
- Plug the TROND outlet extender directly into the top receptacle of a standard duplex wall outlet.
- Locate the central screw hole on the extender.
- Insert the provided mounting screw into the hole and tighten it to secure the extender firmly to the wall outlet. This prevents accidental unplugging.

4.2 Installation on USB or GFCI Outlets
If installing the extender into a USB or GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) receptacle, the small white plastic stability rod on the back of the extender may need to be removed. This rod is designed for standard outlets to enhance stability. Carefully cut off the plastic rod if it interferes with proper seating in USB or GFCI outlets.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
The extender features an ON/OFF switch located on the top. Press the switch to toggle power to all connected AC outlets and USB ports. The switch also functions as a circuit breaker, automatically tripping to protect devices in case of an overload.
5.2 Using AC Outlets
Plug your electronic devices directly into any of the 8 AC outlets. The 3-sided design with wide spacing accommodates larger power adapters without obstructing other outlets.

5.3 Using USB Charging Ports
Connect your USB-powered devices (smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, etc.) to the 2 USB-A ports or the 1 USB-C port. The USB-A ports provide up to 5V/2.4A, and the USB-C port provides up to 5V/3A. The total USB output is 5V/3.4A.

5.4 Surge Protection Indicator
A small indicator light on the unit signifies that the surge protection feature is active and functioning. If this light is off, the surge protection may have been compromised, and the unit should be replaced to ensure continued protection for your devices.

6. Safety Information
- Do not exceed the maximum electrical rating of 1875W (15A/125V).
- This device is for indoor use only. Do not expose to moisture or wet conditions.
- Do not disassemble or modify the unit.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Ensure proper grounding for all connected devices.
- Avoid plugging in multiple high-power appliances into the extender simultaneously to prevent overloading.
7. Maintenance
To maintain your TROND outlet extender, ensure it is unplugged from the wall before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials. Regularly check the unit and connected cords for any signs of damage or wear.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Power to Devices:
- Check if the ON/OFF switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Verify that the wall outlet is functioning by plugging in another device directly.
- If the ON/OFF switch has tripped (popped out), reduce the load by unplugging some devices and then reset the switch.
- Surge Protection Indicator Light is Off:
- If the surge protection indicator light does not illuminate, it means the surge protection components have absorbed a significant surge and are no longer providing protection. The unit will still function as an outlet extender, but surge protection is compromised. It is recommended to replace the unit for continued surge protection.
- Loose Fit in Wall Outlet:
- Ensure the mounting screw is securely tightened to the wall outlet.
- If using with a USB or GFCI outlet, ensure the plastic stability rod has been removed if it was causing interference.
