1. Introduction and Overview

3. Setup

Before operating the TOPDON BT600, ensure the device is properly connected to the vehicle's battery. Follow these steps for initial setup:

1. Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and all accessories are turned off.
2. Connect the red positive (+) clamp of the BT600 to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
3. Connect the black negative (-) clamp of the BT600 to the negative (-) terminal of the battery. Ensure a secure connection to prevent inaccurate readings or damage.
4. The device will power on automatically once connected.

4. Operating Instructions

The TOPDON BT600 offers several testing modes to diagnose your battery and vehicle's electrical system. Navigate through the menu using the directional keys and the ENTER button.

4.1. Battery Test

This test assesses the overall health and charge level of the battery.

1. From the main menu, select "Battery Test" and press ENTER.
2. Select the battery type (e.g., Regular Flooded, AGM, GEL, EFB) and press ENTER.
3. Select the battery standard (e.g., CCA, JIS, SAE) and press ENTER.
4. Enter the rated CCA value of your battery and press ENTER.
5. The tester will perform the analysis and display results including battery health, charge, voltage, internal resistance, and rated CCA.

4.2. Cranking Test

This test evaluates the vehicle's starting system, including the starter motor.

1. From the main menu, select "Cranking Test" and press ENTER.
2. Follow the on-screen prompts to start the vehicle.
3. The tester will measure the cranking voltage and cranking time, providing an assessment of the starter's performance.

4.3. Charging Test

This test checks the vehicle's charging system, including the alternator.

1. From the main menu, select "Charging Test" and press ENTER.
2. Follow the on-screen prompts, which may include revving the engine to a specified RPM.
3. The tester will measure the charging voltage and ripple voltage, indicating the alternator's efficiency and stability.

4.4. Printing Reports

After any test, you can print a detailed report using the built-in thermal printer.

1. Once the test results are displayed, press the "ENTER / PRINT" button.
2. The device will print a summary of the test results on thermal paper.
