1. Introduction
The FTX Kanyon 4x4 Mountain Rescue 2-Speed RTR 1:10 XL Crawler is a high-performance remote-controlled vehicle designed for navigating challenging terrains. This model features a durable chassis, a powerful motor, a switchable 2-speed gearbox for versatile driving, and a functional front-mounted winch. It comes ready-to-run (RTR), requiring minimal setup before operation.

2. Safety Warnings
Please read and understand all safety warnings before operating the vehicle to prevent injury or damage.
- An adult must be present during the use of the vehicle. This product is not suitable for children under 14 years of age without direct adult supervision.
- The product is not waterproof. Avoid operating in wet conditions or submerging the vehicle in water.
- Always turn off the vehicle and transmitter when not in use. Leaving the vehicle on can damage the NiMH battery.
- This vehicle uses a rechargeable NiMH battery. Incorrect handling of the battery can cause the battery to puncture, leak acid, and may lead to a potential fire.
- Dispose of batteries according to local laws and regulations.
- Plug in the charger per instructions. Incorrect charging connections can lead to short circuits or other damage.
- Keep fingers, hair, and loose clothing away from moving parts such as wheels and gears.

4. Setup
4.1 Charging the Vehicle Battery
- Connect the Voltz 1800mAh NiMH 7.2V battery to the supplied USB charger.
- Plug the USB charger into a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).
- The charger's indicator light will show the charging status (refer to charger's specific instructions for light indications).
- Once fully charged, disconnect the battery from the charger. Charging time may vary.

4.2 Installing Transmitter Batteries
- Open the battery compartment on the back of the Etronix 2.4GHz radio transmitter.
- Insert the required AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment securely.
4.3 Connecting Vehicle Battery
- Locate the battery compartment on the vehicle.
- Connect the fully charged NiMH battery to the vehicle's ESC power connector. Ensure a secure connection.
- Secure the battery within its compartment.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On and Binding
- Turn on the transmitter first.
- Turn on the vehicle's power switch (usually located near the ESC).
- The transmitter and receiver should automatically bind. If not, refer to the transmitter's specific binding instructions.
5.2 Basic Controls
- Throttle: Use the trigger on the transmitter. Pull back for forward motion, push forward for reverse/brake.
- Steering: Use the steering wheel on the transmitter. Turn left for left, right for right.
5.3 2-Speed Gearbox Operation
The FTX Kanyon features a switchable 2-speed gearbox, allowing you to select between high and low gears for different terrains.
- Low Gear: Provides maximum torque and control for crawling over obstacles and steep inclines. Ideal for technical terrain.
- High Gear: Offers higher speed for traversing flatter, less challenging terrain.
Refer to your transmitter's manual for the specific switch or button that controls the gear shift. Shift gears only when the vehicle is stationary or moving very slowly to prevent damage.

5.4 Winch Operation
The front bumper mounted winch can be operated directly from the transmitter.
- Locate the dedicated winch control button or switch on your transmitter.
- Activate the winch to extend or retract the cable.
- Use the winch to assist in recovery from difficult situations or to pull objects.
5.5 LED Lights
The vehicle is equipped with 13 factory-mounted LED lights for enhanced realism and visibility. These lights typically activate automatically when the vehicle is powered on.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
- After each use, especially in dirty or dusty conditions, clean the vehicle.
- Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dirt and debris from the chassis, suspension, and drivetrain.
- Wipe down the body with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
6.2 Battery Care and Storage
- Always disconnect the battery from the vehicle when not in use.
- Store the NiMH battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Do not fully discharge NiMH batteries; store them with some charge.
6.3 General Inspection
- Regularly check all screws and fasteners for tightness.
- Inspect the suspension components, driveshafts, and gears for any signs of wear or damage.
- Ensure all electrical connections are secure and free from corrosion.
