4. Setup and First Use
Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage if needed. Check that all listed components are present and undamaged.
Initial Cleaning
- Wash the Shinsei ceramic inner bowl, measuring cup, rice spatula, and ladle with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
- Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
- Wipe the stainless steel inner lid with a damp cloth.
- Ensure all parts are dry before assembly and use.
Placement
Place the rice cooker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
5. Operating Instructions
Basic Rice Cooking (White/Long Grain)
- Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of rice. The Tsuki has a capacity of 2.5 cups of raw rice (0.45 liters), suitable for 1-2 people.
- Wash Rice: Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Add Rice to Bowl: Place the washed rice into the Shinsei ceramic inner bowl.
- Add Water: Refer to the water level markings inside the inner bowl. For White/Long Grain rice, fill water to the corresponding line for the number of cups of rice used. For example, if cooking 2 cups of rice, fill to the '2' mark on the 'LONG GRAIN' scale.
- Place Bowl in Cooker: Ensure the exterior of the inner bowl is dry, then place it into the main unit. Close the lid securely.
- Connect Power: Plug the power cord into the rice cooker and then into a suitable electrical outlet (220-240V).
- Select Function: Press the 'Menu/Cancel' button repeatedly until 'White/Long Grain' is selected on the display.
- Start Cooking: Press the 'Start On/Off' button. The cooker will begin the cooking cycle. The display will show a countdown during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
- Keep Warm: Once cooking is complete, the cooker will automatically switch to 'Keep Warm' mode.
- Serve: Open the lid, stir the rice gently with the rice spatula, and serve.

Other Rice Functions
Follow steps 1-5 above. Then, select the appropriate function using the 'Menu/Cancel' button:
- Short Grain/Sushi: For sticky rice varieties.
- Brown Rice: For whole grain brown rice.
- Yumami: A specialized program for enhanced rice flavor and texture.
- Claypot: For rice with a crispy bottom layer.
Adjust water levels according to the markings for each rice type or specific recipe instructions.
Multicooker Functions
- Porridge: Ideal for cooking oats or rice porridge. Add ingredients and water according to your recipe, then select the 'Porridge' function.
- Slow Cook: For stews, soups, or other slow-cooked dishes. Add ingredients, select 'Slow Cook', and set the desired cooking time if adjustable (refer to display).
Preset Timer
The preset timer allows you to delay the start of cooking. After adding ingredients and selecting a cooking function, press the 'Keep Warm/Preset' button. Use the 'Menu/Cancel' or 'Start On/Off' buttons (depending on model interface) to adjust the desired delay time. Press 'Start On/Off' to confirm. The cooker will start automatically after the set delay.
Keep Warm
The 'Keep Warm' function activates automatically after most cooking cycles. To manually activate or deactivate, press the 'Keep Warm/Preset' button.
