3.3 Ventilation Modes
Your cooker hood can be configured for two types of operation:
- Extraction Mode (Ducted): Air is drawn from the kitchen, filtered through the grease filters, and expelled outside through an exhaust pipe. This mode requires an external ducting system.
- Recirculation Mode (Ductless): Air is drawn from the kitchen, filtered through both grease filters and carbon filters (to remove odors), and then recirculated back into the kitchen. This mode is suitable when external venting is not possible. Carbon filters are included for this purpose.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your cooker hood.
5.1 Cleaning the Grease Filters
The cooker hood is equipped with 5-layer aluminum grease filters. These filters should be cleaned regularly (approximately every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage) to prevent grease buildup and maintain extraction efficiency.

Figure 5.1: Close-up view of the multi-layer aluminum grease filters, highlighting their removable and dishwasher-safe design for easy cleaning.
- To remove: Locate the release latches on each filter, push them inwards, and pull the filter downwards.
- Cleaning: The filters are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, wash them by hand using hot water and a mild detergent. Ensure they are completely dry before re-installing.
- To re-install: Insert the filter into its slot and push upwards until the latches click into place.
5.2 Replacing Carbon Filters (Recirculation Mode Only)
If your cooker hood is operating in recirculation mode, the carbon filters (KWH-CF03) absorb cooking odors. These filters cannot be washed and must be replaced approximately every 3-6 months, depending on usage.
- To replace: Remove the grease filters first. The carbon filters are typically attached to the motor housing. Follow the specific instructions in the full manual for your model to detach and replace them.
- Ensure the new carbon filters are securely installed before re-installing the grease filters.
5.3 Cleaning the Exterior
Clean the exterior surfaces of the cooker hood regularly with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaning agent. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive pads, especially on the stainless steel and glass surfaces.
