To maintain optimal performance and appearance, regularly clean your keyboard. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the keycaps and chassis. For deeper cleaning, use the provided keycap puller to remove keycaps and clean underneath with compressed air or a small brush.
5.2. Keycap Replacement
The Hexgears X5 uses durable PBT keycaps. If you wish to replace keycaps for customization or maintenance, use the included keycap puller. Gently pull up on the keycap until it detaches from the switch. To install a new keycap, align it with the switch stem and press down firmly until it clicks into place.

6. Troubleshooting
- Keyboard not responding: Ensure the keyboard is charged or connected via USB-C. Check the power switch. For wireless mode, ensure the 2.4GHz dongle is securely plugged into a USB port and the keyboard is in 2.4GHz mode.
- Keys not registering (Ghosting/Jamming): The N-Key Rollover feature should prevent this. If issues persist, try connecting in wired mode to rule out wireless interference.
- Backlight not working: Check backlight brightness settings using Fn + Arrow Keys. Ensure the keyboard has sufficient battery charge.
- Connectivity issues: For 2.4GHz wireless, try moving the dongle closer to the keyboard or using a different USB port. For wired, ensure the USB-C cable is fully inserted and undamaged.
