5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Initial Code Setup
The electronic lock allows for programming of 1 Master Code and 1 User Code, each 4 to 15 digits long. Refer to the specific instructions provided with the lock mechanism for detailed steps on setting these codes. Typically, this involves pressing a program button, entering the default code, then entering your new code twice.
5.2 Opening the Cabinet
- Activate the touch display by touching it.
- Enter your programmed Master Code or User Code.
- Press the 'OK' or '#' button (refer to lock display for exact symbol).
- The lock will disengage, and the door can be opened.
5.3 Closing the Cabinet
Simply close the cabinet door. The electronic lock will automatically engage, securing the cabinet.
5.4 Temporary Lockout Feature
If an incorrect code is entered 4 consecutive times, the key cabinet will activate a temporary lockout. During this period (typically 1 minute), the lock will not respond to any input, and an audible warning signal may sound. Wait for the lockout period to expire before attempting to enter the code again.
5.5 Emergency Opening (Empty Batteries)
In the event of completely depleted batteries, the cabinet can be opened using the micro USB connection:
- Locate the micro USB port on the electronic lock panel.
- Connect a micro USB cable (e.g., from a power bank or USB charger) to the port.
- This will temporarily power the lock, allowing you to enter your code and open the cabinet.
- Once opened, replace the batteries immediately. Stored codes will not be deleted when batteries are empty.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Replacement
The electronic lock features a battery change indicator. When this indicator activates, replace all 4 AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Follow the steps in Section 4.2.
6.2 Cleaning
Clean the exterior of the cabinet with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish or the electronic components.
