4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your wall mount charging base:

  1. Choose Location: Select a suitable wall location near a power outlet, ensuring it is at a convenient height for docking your vacuum cleaner.
  2. Mark Drilling Points: Hold the wall mount against the wall at the desired height. Use a pencil to mark the positions for the mounting screws. There are typically two screw holes at the top of the base.
  3. Drill Holes: Using an appropriate drill bit for your wall type and chosen wall plugs, drill holes at the marked positions. Insert the wall plugs.
  4. Mount the Base: Align the wall mount with the drilled holes and secure it firmly to the wall using suitable screws. Ensure it is stable and does not wobble.
  5. Insert Charger Cable Adapter: Take the small black adapter piece. This piece is designed to hold the charging cable's connector in place within the wall mount. Route your vacuum cleaner's charger cable through the designated channel in the wall mount and secure the charging connector using the adapter piece. Ensure the charging pin is accessible and correctly positioned.
  6. Vacuum Cleaner Modification (Important): For the vacuum cleaner to charge automatically when docked, a modification to the vacuum cleaner's casing is required.
    • WARNING: Before proceeding, ensure the vacuum cleaner's battery is removed and the charger is unplugged from the power source.
    • Locate the charging port area on your Rowenta XForce Flex 8.60 vacuum cleaner. The area for modification is often pre-marked or indicated on the casing.
    • Using a small drill bit (e.g., 4mm), carefully drill a pilot hole through the casing at the designated spot.
    • Enlarge this hole with a larger drill bit (e.g., 10mm) to create an opening that allows the charging pin from the wall mount to connect directly to the battery port when docked.
    • Carefully deburr the edges of the newly drilled hole to prevent damage to the charging pin or vacuum cleaner.
    • Reinsert the battery into the vacuum cleaner.

This modification allows for direct charging contact when the vacuum is placed on the wall mount, eliminating the need to remove the battery for charging.

5. Operating Instructions

Once the wall mount is installed and the vacuum cleaner modified:

  1. Ensure your vacuum cleaner's charger is plugged into a power outlet.
  2. Carefully place your Rowenta XForce Flex 8.60 vacuum cleaner onto the wall mount. The charging pin from the wall mount should align and connect with the newly created opening on your vacuum cleaner's casing.
  3. Verify that the charging indicator on your vacuum cleaner illuminates, confirming that charging has commenced.
  4. To remove the vacuum cleaner, simply lift it off the wall mount.

6. Maintenance

The wall mount charging base requires minimal maintenance:
