Setup

1. Installation

Proper installation ensures optimal recording and functionality. It is recommended to route cables neatly to avoid obstructing your view or vehicle controls.

  1. Prepare the MicroSD Card: Insert a Class 10 or higher MicroSD card (not included) into the dash cam. Format the card within the dash cam's settings before first use.
  2. Mount the Front Camera: Attach the suction cup mount to a clean, dry area on your front windshield, ideally behind the rearview mirror to avoid obstructing your view. Ensure the camera lens has a clear view of the road ahead.
  3. Install the Rear Camera: Mount the rear camera on your rear windshield. Connect the rear camera cable to the main front unit. For optimal reverse parking assistance, connect the red wire of the rear camera cable to your car's reverse light power source (professional installation recommended for this step).
  4. Connect Power: Plug the car charger into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket and connect the Mini USB cable to the dash cam. Route the cable along the windshield and dashboard edges to keep it tidy and secure.

2. Initial Configuration

After powering on the dash cam, use the control buttons to navigate the menu. The power button often functions as the 'OK' or 'Enter' button to confirm selections. Adjust settings such as date/time, video resolution, loop recording duration, G-sensor sensitivity, and parking monitor mode according to your preferences.

Operating Instructions

1. Recording Modes

  • Normal Recording: The dash cam automatically starts recording when the vehicle's ignition is turned on.
  • Loop Recording: When the MicroSD card is full, the dash cam will automatically overwrite the oldest unlocked files to continue recording. This ensures continuous recording without manual intervention.
  • G-Sensor (Emergency Lock): The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. When triggered, it automatically locks the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. These files must be deleted manually if no longer needed.
  • Parking Monitoring: The dash cam can monitor your vehicle while parked. If a sudden shock or collision is detected, it will automatically record a short video clip. For 24/7 parking monitoring, a dedicated hardwire kit (sold separately) is required to provide continuous power.

2. Video Quality and Night Vision

The front camera records in 4K Ultra HD (3840*2160P) and the rear camera in 1080P (1920*1080P), capturing clear details such as license plates and road signs. The dash cam features Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology and an F1.8 large aperture lens with 6 layers of glass, enhanced by AI technology, to provide superior night vision. This allows for clear recording in low-light conditions by automatically adjusting exposure and reducing image noise.

3. Built-in GPS Functionality

The integrated GPS module automatically records your vehicle's driving routes, including date, time, speed, and location coordinates. This data can serve as important evidence for insurance claims or roadside assistance. To review GPS data alongside your video footage, download and use the GXPlayer software from the official LAMTTO website.

4. Wide Angle Lenses

The front camera features a 170° wide-angle lens, and the rear camera has a 140° wide-angle lens. These wide angles help reduce blind spots and capture a broader view of the road, ensuring more comprehensive coverage in case of an incident.

Maintenance

1. MicroSD Card Management

Regularly format your MicroSD card (at least once a month) to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Always turn off the dash cam before inserting or removing the MicroSD card to avoid damaging the card or the device.

2. Cleaning

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lenses and the LCD screen. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the surfaces. Ensure the lenses are clean for clear video recording.

Troubleshooting

  • Dash Cam Turns On/Off Automatically: This could be due to a faulty power connection or an issue with the MicroSD card. Ensure the power cable is securely connected and try formatting or replacing the MicroSD card.
  • Video Playback Issues on PC: If you can hear sound but not see images, ensure your media player supports 'AVI' format. Consider downloading a universal video player that supports various formats, including AVI.
  • Screen Turns Black in Sunlight: In extreme heat or direct sunlight, the screen may temporarily turn black as a protective measure. Turn off the device and allow it to cool down before restarting.
  • Unstable Suction Cup Mount: Ensure the windshield surface is clean and dry before attaching the suction cup. Press firmly to create a strong seal.
  • Instructions are Unclear: If you find the instructions confusing, please contact LAMTTO technical support for assistance.
