1. Introduction

The Capresso Infinity Plus Conical Burr Grinder is designed to provide a precise and consistent grind for various brewing methods. Grinding fresh whole beans immediately before brewing is essential for achieving optimal coffee flavor and aroma. This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your grinder.

The Infinity Plus model features commercial-grade, solid steel conical burrs and an innovative gear reduction motor to minimize friction and heat, preserving the coffee's delicate flavors. It offers 16 fineness settings, from extra fine for Turkish coffee to very coarse for percolators and cold brew.

2. Important Safeguards

  • Read all instructions before operating the appliance.

4. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Clean: Wash the bean hopper, bean hopper lid, and ground coffee container with mild soap and water. Ensure all parts are completely dry before assembly.
  3. Assemble: Place the ground coffee container into its designated slot in the main unit. Ensure the upper conical burr is securely in place. Attach the bean hopper to the top of the unit and secure its lid.
  4. Placement: Position the grinder on a clean, dry, and stable surface.
  5. Power: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet (120 Volts).

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Fill Bean Hopper: Open the bean hopper lid and pour whole coffee beans into the hopper. The hopper has an 11-ounce capacity. Replace the lid securely.
  2. Select Grind Fineness: Rotate the grind selector dial to choose your desired fineness setting. Refer to the 'Grind Settings Guide' below for recommendations based on your brewing method.
  3. Set Grinding Time: Rotate the timer dial to select the desired grinding duration. The grinder will automatically stop once the set time has elapsed.
  4. Start Grinding: Press the power button to begin grinding. The grinder will operate until the timer runs out or until you press the power button again to stop it manually.
  5. Collect Ground Coffee: Once grinding is complete, carefully remove the ground coffee container from the unit.
  6. Pulse Grinding: For additional control, you can use the pulse grinding feature by repeatedly pressing and releasing the power button.

The Capresso Infinity Plus offers 16 grind settings. Use the table below as a general guide for various brewing methods:

7. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your grinder.

  1. Unplug: Always unplug the grinder from the power outlet before cleaning.
  2. Remove Bean Hopper: Remove the bean hopper and empty any remaining whole beans.
  3. Remove Upper Burr: Twist and lift the upper conical burr out of the unit (refer to Figure 3).
  4. Clean Burrs: Use a brush (not included) to clean both the upper and lower conical burrs. Remove any trapped coffee particles.
  5. Clean Ground Coffee Container: Empty and wash the ground coffee container and its lid with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  6. Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the grinder with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the main unit in water.
  7. Reassemble: Once all parts are dry, reassemble the grinder by placing the upper burr back into position, followed by the bean hopper and its lid. Insert the clean ground coffee container.

The innovative gear reduction motor and anti-static design help minimize static cling of coffee grounds, making cleanup easier.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Grinder does not start:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet.
    • Check that the bean hopper and ground coffee container are correctly assembled and locked into place.
    • Verify the timer dial is set to a desired grinding duration.
  • Inconsistent grind:
    • Ensure the burrs are clean and free of obstructions.
    • Adjust the grind selector dial to a different setting and test.
  • Grinder is clogged:
    • Unplug the unit. Remove the bean hopper and upper burr. Carefully clear any blockages from the burrs and the grinding chamber using a brush.
  • Excessive static cling of grounds:
    • The Infinity Plus features anti-static technology. If static persists, ensure the ground coffee container is completely dry before use.
