2. Safety Information

Warning! Do Not Use Charger with Output Voltage Above 5V.

3. Setup

3.1 Unboxing and Initial Check

Upon receiving your Phomemo D30 Label Maker, carefully unbox all components. Ensure the package contains the label maker unit, a USB charging cable, and any included label rolls. Inspect the device for any visible damage.

3.2 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the label maker. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the charging port on the device and to a compatible 5V USB power adapter (not included). The indicator light will show charging status and turn off when fully charged.

3.3 Loading Label Paper

To load label paper:

  1. Open the cover of the label maker.
  2. Insert the label roll with the printing surface facing upwards, ensuring it is properly aligned within the compartment.
  3. Pull a small portion of the label paper out through the printing slot.
  4. Close the cover firmly until it clicks into place.

3.4 App Installation and Bluetooth Pairing

The Phomemo D30 operates via a dedicated mobile application. Follow these steps to install the app and pair your device:

  1. Scan the QR code provided in the product packaging or search for "Print Master" in your device's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Download and install the "Print Master" application.
  3. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone or tablet.
  4. Open the "Print Master" app. The app will guide you to connect to the printer. Select the "D30" model from the list of available devices.
  5. Once connected, the app will indicate "Connection Succeeded".

4. Operating the Label Maker

4.1 Creating and Printing Labels

The "Print Master" app provides a user-friendly interface for designing and printing labels:

  1. Open the "Print Master" app and ensure your D30 is connected.
  2. Select a template or start a new design. The app offers multiple templates for various industries (stationery, kitchen, cables, pharmaceuticals, jewelry, etc.).
  3. Customize your label:
    • Add text using multiple font styles.
    • Insert icons and borders.
    • Add barcodes or QR codes for professional use.
  4. Preview your label to ensure it appears as desired.
  5. Tap the "Print" button. The label maker will quickly print your design.
  6. Use the built-in precision cutter to cleanly tear off the printed label.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Print Head

As a thermal printer, the D30 does not use ink. However, dust or debris can accumulate on the print head, affecting print quality. To clean the print head:

  1. Turn off the label maker and disconnect it from any power source.
  2. Open the label compartment.
  3. Gently wipe the print head with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Do not use water or abrasive cleaners.
  4. Allow the print head to dry completely before closing the cover and resuming use.

5.2 Label Storage

Store unused label rolls in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat to preserve their adhesive properties and print quality. Avoid exposing labels to chemicals or abrasive surfaces.
