4. Minimum System Requirements

5. Setup Guide

5.1. Download the Vivitar Smart Security 2 App

  1. Scan the QR code provided in your kit or search for "Vivitar Smart Security 2" in the Apple App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android).
  2. Download and install the application on your smartphone or tablet.
  3. Open the app and create a new account or log in if you already have one.

5.2. Adding the Smart Camera

  1. Plug in the Vivitar Outdoor Smart Camera using the provided power adapter. Wait for the indicator light to flash, indicating it's ready for pairing.
  2. In the Vivitar Smart Security 2 App, tap "Add Device" or the "+" icon.
  3. Select "Smart Camera" from the list of devices.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the camera to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. This typically involves scanning a QR code displayed on your phone with the camera lens.
  5. Once connected, name your camera for easy identification (e.g., "Front Door Camera").

5.3. Adding Door/Window and Shock Sensors

  1. Ensure your camera is already set up and online.
  2. In the Vivitar Smart Security 2 App, navigate to the camera's settings or the "Add Device" section again.
  3. Select "Sensor" or the appropriate sensor type (Door/Window Sensor, Shock Sensor).
  4. Follow the app's instructions to pair each sensor. This usually involves activating the sensor (e.g., pressing a button, separating the magnetic parts for the door sensor) while the app is in pairing mode.
  5. Name each sensor according to its location (e.g., "Front Door Sensor", "Living Room Window Shock Sensor").

5.4. Installation and Placement

  • Outdoor Smart Camera:
    • Mount the camera in a location that provides a clear view of the area you wish to monitor.
    • Ensure the camera is within range of your Wi-Fi network.
    • Use the provided mounting hardware to securely attach the camera to a wall or suitable surface.
    • Position the camera to avoid direct sunlight or strong light sources that could affect image quality.
  • Door/Window Sensor:
    • Attach the main part of the sensor to the door or window frame and the smaller magnetic part to the door or window itself.
    • Ensure the two parts are aligned and within 1 cm of each other when the door/window is closed.
  • Shock Sensor:
    • Mount the shock sensor on a window pane or door frame where vibrations from forced entry would be detected.
    • Test the sensitivity settings in the app after installation to ensure optimal performance.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Camera Features

  • High Definition Video: View live and recorded footage in clear 720p resolution.
  • Wide-Angle View: The camera provides a broad field of view to cover larger areas.
  • Motion Detection & Event Notification: Receive instant alerts on your smartphone when motion is detected.
  • Two-Way Audio (Intercom): Use the built-in microphone and speaker to communicate with individuals near the camera.
  • Micro SD Card Slot: Insert a Class 4 or higher Micro SD card (not included) for local video storage. This allows continuous recording or recording triggered by motion.

  • Door/Window Sensor: Detects when a door or window is opened or closed. Triggers alerts based on your app settings.
