Setup and Installation

The Megaflint Keyless Deadbolt Door Lock is designed for DIY installation. Please follow these steps carefully. It is crucial to set the combination code before installing the lock on the door.

2. Setting the Combination Code (Crucial Pre-Installation Step)

The lock comes with a default code of 159260. To change the code, you must do this before installing the lock on the door. The combination can be 4-8 digits (no repeats). The order of digits does not matter for unlocking.

• Remove the back cover of the lock using a screwdriver.
• Turn the knob counter-clockwise to reset the tumblers.
• Identify "Code-Tumblers" (golden colored) and "Non-Code-Tumblers" (silver colored).
• Use tweezers to remove all existing tumblers from the front cover.
• Insert golden "Code-Tumblers" into the slots corresponding to your desired new code.
• Insert silver "Non-Code-Tumblers" into the remaining slots.
• Replace the back cover.

3. Physical Installation

Refer to the installation video for a visual guide. Ensure your door's borehole is not less than 1-15/16 inches. For double bore standard doors, install this lock on the upper bore.

1. Install the deadbolt latch into the door edge. Ensure the sliding bar is on the top for left-side locks and on the bottom for right-side locks. Secure with wood screws.
2. Attach the mounting plate to the door, aligning it with the deadbolt latch. Secure with long machine screws.
3. Place the back cover gasket onto the back cover.
4. Align the front cover and back cover with the deadbolt latch and mounting plate. Secure the back cover to the front cover using short machine screws.
5. Test the lock's functionality with both the code and the key.

Operating Instructions

Unlocking the Door:

• Using the Passcode: Press the buttons corresponding to your set combination in any order. Then, turn the knob to unlock.
• Using the Key: Insert the key into the key cylinder and turn to unlock.

The door can always be opened from the inside without using a password or key.

Locking the Door:

This is a 100% mechanical deadbolt and does not lock automatically. To lock the door, simply turn the knob to the 'Lock' position from either side.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the lock's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
• Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the key cylinder to ensure smooth operation. Do not use oil-based lubricants.
• Inspection: Regularly check all screws and components to ensure they are secure. Tighten any loose screws as needed.
