3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Physical Installation
The CPE820 units are designed for outdoor mounting. Choose a location for each unit that provides a clear line of sight to the other unit for optimal performance. Ensure the mounting surface is stable and secure.
- Attach the bracket mount to the back of each CPE820 unit using the provided screws.
- Securely mount the brackets to a pole or wall using the appropriate mounting hardware. Ensure the units are oriented correctly for the desired signal path.
- Adjust the angle of the units using the anti-slip gear design on the bracket for precise alignment.

3.2 Powering the Devices (PoE)
The CPE820 units are powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) using the included PoE adapters. They support a wide voltage range of 24V to 48V.
- Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the LAN port of the CPE820 unit.
- Connect the other end of this Ethernet cable to the "PoE" port on the PoE adapter.
- Connect another Ethernet cable from the "LAN" port on the PoE adapter to your network device (e.g., router, switch, or computer for initial configuration).
- Plug the power cord into the PoE adapter and then into a power outlet.

3.3 Initial Configuration and Pairing
The CPE820 units are designed for easy pairing. Follow these steps to establish a wireless bridge link:
- Power on both CPE820 units as described in Section 3.2.
- Identify one unit as the "Master" and the other as the "Slave".
- On the Master unit, set the physical switch (A/B) to position 'A'.
- On the Slave unit, set the physical switch (A/B) to position 'B'.
- The units should automatically pair. Observe the LED indicators on the units to confirm successful pairing (refer to the Quick Installation Guide for specific LED status meanings).
- For advanced configuration or troubleshooting, access the web management interface by connecting a computer directly to the LAN port of the PoE adapter connected to one of the CPE units. The default IP address and login credentials can be found in the Quick Installation Guide.

4. Operating Instructions
Once the CPE820 units are installed and paired, they will automatically establish a wireless bridge. Data will be transmitted transparently between the two network segments connected by the bridges.
4.1 Transmission Performance
The CPE820 supports high-speed data transfer. Wireless transmission between the bridges can reach up to 1200Mbps, with actual wired speeds up to 433Mbps through the Gigabit port. Performance may vary based on environmental factors and distance.

Figure 4.1: Transmission Efficiency. Illustrates the potential data rates achievable with the CPE820 system.
4.2 Transmission Range
The CPE820 is capable of transmitting data over distances up to 5 kilometers (approximately 3.1 miles) under optimal conditions with a clear line of sight.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your UeeVii CPE820 Wireless Bridge, consider the following maintenance tips:
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check the physical condition of the units and mounting hardware for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections.
- Cleaning: Gently clean the exterior of the units with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, or debris. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Firmware Updates: Check the UeeVii official website periodically for firmware updates. Keeping the firmware updated can improve performance, add new features, and address security vulnerabilities.
- Environmental Factors: Ensure that the line of sight between the two units remains clear. Trim any growing vegetation or remove new obstructions that may interfere with the wireless signal.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your CPE820 Wireless Bridge, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No Power/LEDs Off | Power adapter not connected, faulty cable, power outlet issue. | Check power connections, try a different outlet, inspect Ethernet cables for damage. Ensure PoE adapter is correctly connected. |
| No Wireless Link/Poor Signal | Units not paired, obstructed line of sight, incorrect alignment, excessive distance. | Verify A/B switch settings for Master/Slave pairing. Ensure clear line of sight. Re-align units carefully. Reduce distance if possible. Check for strong interference sources. |
| Slow Network Speed | Interference, poor signal quality, network congestion, outdated firmware. | Check signal strength via web interface. Minimize interference from other wireless devices. Ensure your local network is not congested. Update firmware. |
| Cannot Access Web Interface | Incorrect IP address, network configuration issue on PC, unit not powered on. | Ensure your PC's IP address is in the same subnet as the CPE820's default IP (e.g., 192.168.1.x). Try resetting the unit to factory defaults (refer to Quick Installation Guide for method). |
