5. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install your Freshmeo 202A switch:
- Power Disconnection: Before starting, ensure the power supply to the circuit you are working on is completely disconnected at the main breaker or fuse box.
- Location Selection: Choose a suitable location within the door frame or cabinet where the switch plunger will be depressed by the sliding door when it is closed. The switch should be mounted securely so that the door makes firm contact with the plunger.
- Mounting:
- Mark the positions for the two mounting screws using the switch as a template.
- Drill pilot holes if necessary.
- Secure the switch to the chosen surface using the provided mounting screws. Ensure it is firmly attached and does not wobble.
- Wiring (Refer to Figure 4.3 for terminal view):
- The 202A is a normally closed (NC) switch. This means when the plunger is extended (door open), the circuit is closed (power ON). When the plunger is depressed (door closed), the circuit is open (power OFF).
- Connect the incoming power line to one terminal of the switch.
- Connect the wire leading to your light fixture or appliance to the other terminal of the switch.
- Ensure all wire connections are tight and insulated.
- Test: Once wiring is complete and secure, restore power at the circuit breaker. Test the switch by opening and closing the sliding door. The connected appliance should turn ON when the door is open and OFF when the door is closed.
6. Operating Instructions
The Freshmeo 202A switch operates automatically based on the position of your sliding door:
- Door Open: When the sliding door is open, the switch plunger is released. In this "normally closed" configuration, the electrical circuit is completed, and the connected light or appliance will turn ON.
- Door Closed: When the sliding door is closed, it presses against the switch plunger. This action opens the electrical circuit, and the connected light or appliance will turn OFF.
No manual operation is required for this switch; its function is entirely dependent on the door's position.
7. Maintenance
The Freshmeo 202A switch requires minimal maintenance:
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the switch with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust or debris. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Occasionally check the mounting screws to ensure they remain tight. Verify that the door makes proper contact with the switch plunger.
- No User Serviceable Parts: Do not attempt to open or repair the switch. Refer any issues to qualified personnel.
