Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Clean: Wash the lid, egg steaming rack, and measuring cup with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  3. Placement: Place the main unit on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface near a power outlet.

Operating Instructions

Cooking Eggs:

  1. Add Water: Use the provided measuring cup to add the appropriate amount of water to the heating plate of the main unit. The measuring cup has markings for different egg doneness (e.g., soft, medium, hard). Adjust water level based on desired consistency.
  2. Place Eggs: Place the egg steaming rack onto the main unit. Carefully place up to 7 eggs onto the rack. For best results and to prevent cracking, you may gently pierce the larger end of each egg with a pin (not included) before cooking.
  3. Cover: Place the chicken-shaped lid securely over the egg steaming rack and main unit.
  4. Start Cooking: Plug the appliance into a suitable power outlet. Press the power switch (usually located on the front of the main unit). The power indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the appliance has started cooking.
  5. Automatic Shut-off: The egg boiler will automatically turn off when all the water has evaporated from the heating plate. The power indicator light will extinguish.
  6. Serve: Once the light goes out, carefully unplug the appliance. Use oven mitts or a towel to remove the hot lid and egg rack. Immediately transfer the cooked eggs to a bowl of cold water to stop the cooking process and make them easier to peel.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your egg boiler.

  1. Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Wash Removable Parts: The lid, egg steaming rack, and measuring cup can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally not dishwasher safe.
  3. Clean Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  4. Heating Plate Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (scale) may build up on the stainless steel heating plate. To remove, add a mixture of water and white vinegar (1:1 ratio) to the heating plate. Let it sit for 15-30 minutes, then gently scrub with a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse by wiping with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  5. Storage: Ensure all parts are dry before storing the appliance in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting

  • Appliance does not turn on:
    • Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet.
    • Check that the power switch on the unit is pressed to the 'ON' position.
  • Eggs are not cooked to desired doneness:
    • Verify that the correct amount of water was added using the measuring cup for your desired egg consistency.
    • Ensure the lid is properly seated to retain steam.
  • Water boils dry too quickly:
    • Confirm that the correct water level for your desired doneness was used. Adding too little water will result in faster evaporation.
