3. Device Overview

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the rear of the device.
2. Gently lift the battery cover to open the compartment.
3. Insert the 3.8V/4000mAh Lithium-Ion battery, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
4. Close the battery cover securely until it clicks into place.

4.2 Initial Power On and Charging

1. After installing the battery, press and hold the power button located on the side of the device until the screen illuminates.
2. For first-time use, or if the battery is low, connect the device to the wall charger using the provided USB cable.
3. Allow the device to charge fully before extensive use. A full charge can provide up to 10 hours of operation.

4.3 Network Connection

The RD50T supports Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, and Bluetooth connectivity.

• Wi-Fi: Navigate to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi to connect to available wireless networks.
• 4G LTE: Insert a compatible SIM card into the designated slot (refer to device overview for location) and configure mobile data settings via Settings > Network & internet > Mobile network.

5.1 Barcode Scanning

The RD50T features an integrated Zebra SE4710 scan engine for fast and accurate reading of 1D and 2D barcodes, even if they are damaged or dirty.

1. Open the pre-installed 'Scanner' application on the device.
2. Point the scanner module at the barcode you wish to read.
3. Press the dedicated scan trigger button on the side of the device or the scan button within the application.
4. The device will emit a confirmation sound or vibration upon successful scan.

The device supports a 'picklist mode' for accurate scanning in environments with multiple adjacent barcodes.

5.2 Scanner Application Settings

The pre-installed Scanner App allows customization of scanning behavior and output formats.
