1. Product Overview

The Kemeco ST4334Q Solar Post Light is an outdoor LED lamp designed for illuminating pathways, yards, gates, and pillars. It features a vintage gas lantern style, is 100% solar-powered, and operates from dusk to dawn automatically. Constructed from cast-aluminum with clear glass panels, it is built for durability and weather resistance.

2. Safety Information

• Ensure the product is installed in a location that receives full, direct sunlight for optimal charging.

4. Setup and Installation

The Kemeco ST4334Q Solar Post Light is designed for easy installation without the need for electrical wiring. It can be mounted on a standard 3-inch post (not included) or directly onto a flat surface using the provided pier mounting base.

4.1 Initial Charging

1. Before first use, locate the ON/OFF slide switch, typically found on the underside of the solar panel assembly. Ensure the switch is in the OFF position.
2. Place the solar light in a location that receives at least 24 hours of full, direct sunlight to allow the batteries to fully charge.
3. After the initial charge, slide the switch to the ON position.

4.2 Choosing an Installation Location

Select a location that:

• Receives maximum direct sunlight throughout the day.
• Is not shaded by trees, buildings, or other obstructions.
• Is away from other strong night-time lighting sources (e.g., streetlights, porch lights) that could trigger the light sensor and prevent the solar light from turning on.

4.3 Mounting Options

The light offers two primary mounting methods:

1. On a 3-inch Post (Post not included):
   • Ensure your existing post has a standard 3-inch diameter.
   • Simply place the solar light directly onto the top of the post. The base of the light is designed to fit over a 3-inch post.
   • Secure the light to the post using appropriate screws (not included, as post materials vary).
2. Using the Pier Mounting Base (Included):
   • Position the pier mounting base on your desired flat surface (e.g., concrete, deck).
   • Mark the drilling points through the holes in the base.
   • Drill pilot holes if necessary, then secure the base to the surface using the provided screws and anchors.
   • Once the base is securely attached, place the solar light onto the base.
   • Secure the light to the base using the appropriate screws.

5. Operating Instructions

The Kemeco ST4334Q Solar Post Light operates automatically once properly charged and switched ON.

1. After initial charging (refer to Section 4.1), ensure the ON/OFF slide switch is in the ON position.
2. During the day, the solar panels will convert sunlight into electricity, charging the internal rechargeable batteries.
3. At dusk, the integrated light sensor will detect the decrease in ambient light and automatically turn the LED lamp on.
4. The light will remain illuminated for approximately 6-9 hours, or longer under optimal charging conditions, before turning off automatically at dawn.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your solar post light.

6.1 Cleaning

• Periodically wipe the solar panels with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, snow, or debris. A clean solar panel ensures efficient charging.
• Clean the glass panels with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth to maintain light output.

6.2 Battery Replacement

The included Ni-MH rechargeable batteries have a limited lifespan. If the light duration significantly decreases, consider replacing the batteries.

• Carefully open the battery compartment, usually located under the solar panel assembly.
• Replace the three AA size 1.2V Ni-MH rechargeable batteries with new ones of the same type and capacity (2300mAh recommended).
• Ensure correct polarity when inserting new batteries.
• Close the battery compartment securely.

6.3 Bulb Replacement

The Kemeco ST4334Q features an upgraded, replaceable 3V DC LED bulb (E27 socket base).

• To replace the bulb, carefully unscrew the existing bulb from its E27 socket.
• Install a new 3V DC LED bulb designed for solar power into the socket. Using an unsuitable bulb may damage the unit.
• Contact customer service if you need a spare bulb or assistance.
