2. What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your TC Electronic Plethora X3, ensure all the following components are present:

3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Plethora X3 for optimal performance:

1. Power Connection: Connect the included 9V power supply to the DC IN port on the rear of the unit. Ensure the power supply is rated for 9 Volts and provides sufficient current (600 mA).
2. Audio Connections:
   • For mono operation, connect your instrument to the MONO INPUT jack and connect the MONO OUTPUT jack to your amplifier or audio interface.
   • For stereo operation, connect your instrument to the STEREO INPUT jack and connect the STEREO OUTPUT jacks to your stereo amplifier setup or audio interface.
3. MIDI Connections (Optional): The Plethora X3 features MIDI IN and MIDI THRU ports. These allow for external control of the unit via MIDI commands, such as changing presets or controlling parameters from a MIDI controller or DAW. 4. Operating Instructions

The Plethora X3 offers intuitive controls for navigating its extensive features.

4.1. Pedalboard Navigation

• The unit allows you to create and store up to 127 custom pedalboards.
• Use the BOARD knob to cycle through your saved pedalboards. Each board can contain up to three different effects.

4.2. Effect Selection and Editing

1. Enter Edit Mode: Press the EFFECT knob (labeled 'Play/Edit') to toggle between Play and Edit modes. In Edit mode, you can select and modify individual effects.
2. Select Effect Slot: Rotate the EFFECT knob to highlight the desired effect slot on the display.
3. Choose Effect Type: Once an effect slot is highlighted, rotate the TONEPRINT knob to cycle through the available effect types (e.g., Reverb, Delay, Phaser).
4. Adjust Parameters: Use the three central knobs (labeled 'Play', 'Edit', 'Board') to adjust the parameters of the selected effect. The display will show the current parameter values.
5. Save Settings: After adjusting parameters, press the EFFECT knob again to exit Edit mode and save your changes to the current pedalboard.

4.3. MASH Footswitches

The three footswitches are MASH-enabled, meaning they respond to pressure. Pressing harder on a footswitch can control additional parameters or trigger unique effects, offering dynamic real-time control over your sound.

4.4. Tuner Function

To access the built-in tuner, press and hold the central footswitch. The display will switch to tuner mode, allowing you to accurately tune your instrument.

4.5. TonePrint App Integration

The Plethora X3 is fully compatible with the TC Electronic TonePrint App (available for mobile and desktop). This app allows you to:

• Beam custom TonePrints from famous artists directly to your pedal.
