Please read all instructions carefully before using your avigator 12-Cup Coffee Maker. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the appliance in water or other liquid.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Contact customer support for assistance.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
- The carafe is designed for use with this appliance only. It must never be used on a range top.
- Do not place a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface.
- Do not use a cracked carafe or a carafe having a loose or weakened handle.
- Do not clean carafe with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials.

Setup and First Use
Before first use, clean all removable parts according to the "Cleaning and Maintenance" section. Run a full brewing cycle with only water to clean the internal components.
- Position the Coffee Maker: Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface near an electrical outlet.
- Fill the Water Tank: Open the water tank cover and fill the tank with cold, fresh water. Do not exceed the MAX water level line indicated on the side of the coffee maker.

- Insert the Filter Basket: Place the permanent filter into the funnel. Ensure it is seated correctly.

- Add Ground Coffee: Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter basket. Use the provided coffee scoop for accurate measurement. A general guideline is one scoop per cup, adjusting to taste.

- Place the Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe with its lid is correctly positioned on the warming plate.
Operating Instructions
Brewing Coffee
- Follow steps 1-5 from the "Setup and First Use" section.
- Start Brewing: Plug the coffee maker into a power outlet. Tap the BREW / AUTO OFF button on the touchscreen control panel to start the brewing process.

- The coffee maker will begin brewing. The display will show the current time.
- Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" mode.
1-4 Cup Function
For smaller batches of coffee (1-4 cups), use the 1-4 CUP function to optimize brewing for richer flavor.
- After adding water and coffee grounds, press the 1-4 CUP button on the control panel.
- Then, press the BREW / AUTO OFF button to start brewing.
24-Hour Programmable Timer
You can program the coffee maker to start brewing automatically at a specific time.
- Set Current Time: Press the HR button to set the hour and MIN button to set the minute. The display will show AM/PM.
- Set Programmed Time: Press the PROG button. The display will flash. Use the HR and MIN buttons to set your desired brew time.
- Activate Program: Press the PROG button again to confirm the programmed time. The PROG indicator light will illuminate, indicating the timer is active.
- The coffee maker will automatically start brewing at the set programmed time.
Keep Warm Function and Temperature Settings
The coffee maker automatically keeps coffee warm for up to 4 hours after brewing. You can adjust the warming plate temperature.
- Press the CARAFE TEMP button to cycle through the three temperature settings:
- HIGH: Approximately 84°C (183.2°F)
- MEDIUM: Approximately 81°C (177.8°F)
- LOW: Approximately 78°C (172.4°F)
- The selected temperature will be indicated on the display.
- The warming plate will automatically turn off after 4 hours.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.
Daily Cleaning
- Unplug: Always unplug the coffee maker from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
- Wash Removable Parts: Remove the filter basket and glass carafe. Wash them in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally top-rack dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.

- Wipe Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the main unit in water or other liquids.
- Clean Warming Plate: Wipe the warming plate with a clean, damp cloth. Remove any spilled coffee immediately to prevent staining.
Descaling (Monthly or as Needed)
Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance and coffee taste. Descale regularly, especially in areas with hard water.
- Prepare Descaling Solution: Fill the water tank with a mixture of white vinegar and water (e.g., 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water). Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
- Start Descaling Cycle: Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Press the CLEAN button on the control panel. The coffee maker will run a cleaning cycle.
- Rinse Cycles: After the descaling cycle is complete, discard the vinegar solution. Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water and run 2-3 full brewing cycles with only water to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste.
