- Door Thickness: This lever fits standard door thicknesses from 1-3/8 inches (35mm) to 1-3/4 inches (44mm).
- Backset: The adjustable latch accommodates backsets of 2-3/8 inches (60mm) or 2-3/4 inches (70mm). Adjust the latch by twisting it during installation to match your door's backset.
3.2 Lever Reversibility
The Kwikset Balboa lever is reversible, allowing it to be installed on both left-handed and right-handed doors without modification.

- Locking from Inside: To lock the door from the inside, rotate the thumb turn button located on the interior lever.
- Unlocking from Inside: To unlock the door from the inside, rotate the thumb turn button in the opposite direction, or simply turn the interior lever.
- Unlocking from Outside (Emergency): In case of an emergency, the door can be unlocked from the outside using the provided emergency unlock tool. Insert the tool into the small hole on the exterior lever and push or turn as indicated in the detailed installation guide.

5. Maintenance

- Cleaning: Clean the lever with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishing agents, as these can damage the finish.
- Lubrication: The internal mechanism is factory-lubricated and generally does not require additional lubrication under normal use. If the lever action becomes stiff over time, a small amount of graphite lubricant can be applied to the latch bolt.
