Introduction

The VECTOR J312V is a portable jump starter and power bank designed for convenience and reliability. With 700 peak amps of starting power, it can instantly jump start 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder cars and trucks. It features powder-coated metal clamps, reverse polarity protection for safe operation, and integrated AC plug for easy recharging. Additionally, it includes a USB port and a 12V DC port for charging portable devices and equipment.

Setup

Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the VECTOR J312V Jump Starter for at least 24 hours. Regular recharging is crucial for maintaining battery health and performance.

1. Locate the built-in 120 Volt AC charger plug on the unit.
2. Plug the AC charger directly into a standard 120V AC wall outlet.
3. The LED Battery Status Indicators will show charging progress. Charge until the 'FULL' indicator illuminates.

Operating Instructions

Jump Starting a Vehicle

Follow these steps carefully to jump start a vehicle:

1. Ensure the vehicle's ignition is OFF and all accessories are unplugged.
2. Turn the Jump Starter Power Switch to the OFF position.
3. Connect the RED (+) positive clamp to the positive terminal of the vehicle's battery.
4. Connect the BLACK (-) negative clamp to a non-moving metal part of the vehicle's chassis or engine block, away from the battery.
5. Turn the Jump Starter Power Switch to the ON position.
6. Attempt to start the vehicle. If it does not start within 5-8 seconds, wait at least 3 minutes before trying again.
7. Once the vehicle starts, turn the Jump Starter Power Switch to the OFF position.
8. Disconnect the BLACK (-) negative clamp first, then the RED (+) positive clamp.

Using the USB and 12V DC Ports

The VECTOR J312V can also power and charge your portable electronics:

• USB Port: Press the USB Power Button to activate the 2.1A USB port. Connect your USB-powered device (e.g., smartphone, tablet) using its charging cable. The USB indicator will light up.
• 12V DC Outlet: Plug your 12V DC appliance (e.g., portable air compressor, car vacuum) into the 12V DC outlet. Ensure the appliance's power consumption does not exceed the unit's maximum output.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your jump starter:

• Recharging: Recharge the unit after each use. If not used frequently, recharge every 3 months to keep the internal battery fully charged.
• Cleaning: Clean the case and clamps with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Storage: Store the jump starter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure clamps are properly stored in their holders.
