5. Maintenance

5.1. Battery Recharging

The Quick-Release Battery Pack can be easily removed for recharging. The frequency of recharging depends on usage and environmental factors. For continuous power without frequent recharging, consider the optional hardwiring or a solar panel (sold separately).

5.2. Cleaning

Periodically clean the doorbell's camera lens and housing with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear video quality and proper sensor function. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

5.3. Software Updates

Ensure your Ring app and doorbell firmware are up to date to benefit from the latest features and security enhancements. Updates are typically managed through the Ring app.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Ring Battery Doorbell Pro, consider the following common solutions:

  • No Power/Battery Issues: Ensure the Quick-Release Battery Pack is fully charged and correctly inserted. If hardwired, verify the transformer meets the specified requirements (8-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz or 24Vdc 420mA/500mA).
  • Wi-Fi Connectivity Problems: Check your Wi-Fi signal strength in the Ring app. Ensure your router is within range and operating on a supported frequency (2.4GHz or 5GHz). Restarting your router may resolve connection issues.
  • Motion Detection Not Working/Too Sensitive: Adjust the 3D Motion Detection settings and Bird's Eye Zones in the Ring app. Ensure the zones cover the desired areas and exclude irrelevant ones.
  • Poor Video Quality: Check your internet upload speed (minimum 2 Mbps recommended). Clean the camera lens. Ensure there are no obstructions in the camera's field of view.
  • Audio Issues: Verify microphone and speaker settings in the Ring app. Ensure there are no physical obstructions blocking the microphone or speaker on the doorbell.

For more detailed troubleshooting, refer to the help section within the Ring app or visit the official Ring support website.
