4. Operating the Alarm
4.1 Powering On
The smoke alarm is powered by a sealed 10-year lithium battery. It automatically activates once properly mounted onto the mounting bracket. No manual power-on is required.
4.2 Alarm Test & Silence Button
The large button on the front of the alarm serves as both a test button and a silence button.
- To Test: Press and hold the button for approximately 3 seconds. The alarm will sound loudly (85 dB) and the LED indicator will flash rapidly, confirming proper operation. Test the alarm weekly.
- To Silence: If the alarm triggers due to non-emergency smoke (e.g., cooking fumes), press the button once. The alarm will temporarily silence for up to 9 minutes. The LED indicator will flash every 5 seconds during the silence period. After 9 minutes, the alarm will reset to normal mode.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the continued reliability of your smoke alarm.
5.1 Smart Auto-Check
The alarm features a smart auto-check function that performs self-inspection every 60 seconds. If a malfunction is detected or the battery is low, the alarm will provide clear notifications.

5.2 Cleaning
Clean the alarm cover and vents once a month to prevent dust buildup, which can affect detection sensitivity. Use a soft, damp cloth for the exterior and a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment for the vents.
5.3 Battery Life
The sealed lithium battery provides 10 years of continuous power. The battery is not replaceable. When the 10-year lifespan is reached, the entire unit should be replaced.

6. Troubleshooting
If your smoke alarm is not functioning as expected, refer to the following common issues:
- False Alarms: Ensure the alarm is not installed in areas with high humidity, excessive dust, or near cooking fumes. Use the silence button if triggered by non-emergency smoke.
- No Alarm During Test: Ensure the alarm is properly mounted. If it still fails to alarm, the unit may be faulty and needs replacement.
- Low Battery/Malfunction Beeps: The alarm will indicate low battery or malfunction with specific beeps and LED flashes. Refer to the user manual for exact patterns. If the issue persists, replace the unit.
