3. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Clean: Before first use, wash the carafe, filter, and brew basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
  3. Position: Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the countertop. Ensure it is not near any hot surfaces or open flames.
  4. Initial Rinse: Fill the water tank to the MAX level with fresh, cold water. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate. Run a brewing cycle without coffee grounds to clean the internal components. Discard the water.

4. Operating Instructions

  1. Fill Water Tank: Open the lid of the water tank and fill it with the desired amount of fresh, cold water. Use the water level indicator on the side of the coffee maker as a guide (up to 600 ml for 4 cups). Close the lid securely.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Swivel out the quick brew basket. Place the cone filter into the brew basket. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. A general guideline is one tablespoon of coffee grounds per cup. Swivel the brew basket back into place.
  3. Place Carafe: Ensure the empty borosilicate glass carafe is correctly positioned on the warming plate.
  4. Start Brewing: Plug the coffee maker into a power outlet. Press the ON/OFF switch. The indicator light will illuminate, and the brewing process will begin.
  5. Anti-Drip Feature: The anti-drip function allows you to temporarily remove the carafe during the brewing cycle to pour a cup of coffee. The brewing will pause and resume once the carafe is returned to the warming plate. Do not remove the carafe for more than 30 seconds to prevent overflow.
  6. Keep Warm: Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the 'keep warm' function, maintaining the coffee's temperature for up to 2 hours.
  7. Auto Shut-Off: After 2 hours, the coffee maker will automatically shut off for safety and energy saving.
  8. Serve: Carefully remove the carafe from the warming plate and pour your freshly brewed coffee.
  9. Turn Off: If you finish your coffee before the auto shut-off, press the ON/OFF switch to turn off the appliance.

5. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure optimal performance and extend the lifespan of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Remove the filter, brew basket, and glass carafe. These components are dishwasher safe or can be washed by hand in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  • Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker, including the warming plate, with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Never immerse the main unit, power cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.

Descaling:

Mineral deposits from water can build up over time and affect brewing performance. Descale your coffee maker every 2-4 weeks, depending on water hardness.

  1. Fill the water tank with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio).
  2. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  3. Run a brewing cycle until half of the solution has brewed through.
  4. Turn off the coffee maker and let it stand for 15-20 minutes to allow the solution to work.
  5. Turn the coffee maker back on and let the remaining solution brew through.
  6. Discard the solution and rinse the carafe and filter thoroughly.
  7. Run 2-3 cycles with fresh, cold water to remove any residual vinegar taste.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Coffee not brewing: Ensure the coffee maker is plugged in, the power switch is on, and the water tank has sufficient water. Check if the carafe is correctly placed on the warming plate.
  • Coffee tastes weak or too strong: Adjust the amount of coffee grounds used. Ensure the water-to-coffee ratio is appropriate for your preference.
  • Brewing is slow: Mineral buildup might be affecting the brewing speed. Perform a descaling cycle as described in the Maintenance section.
  • Water overflowing from the brew basket: Ensure you are not overfilling the water tank. Check if the filter is clogged or if the carafe was removed for too long during brewing.
  • Coffee maker leaks: Check that all removable parts (carafe, brew basket, filter) are correctly assembled and seated. Ensure the water tank lid is closed properly.

If the problem persists, please contact AGARO customer support.
