FEDOUR 80GPH Aquarium Air Pump User Manual

Model: 80GPH

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the FEDOUR 80GPH Aquarium Air Pump. This 3W silent and adjustable air pump is designed to provide powerful oxygenation for fish and turtle tanks up to 120 gallons (450 liters). Its advanced design ensures quiet operation and stable air volume delivery, contributing to a healthy aquatic environment.

2. Safety Information

  • Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance or installation.
  • Ensure the air pump is placed above the water level of the aquarium to prevent water backflow. If placing below water level, a check valve MUST be installed to prevent water from siphoning into the pump during a power outage.
  • Do not immerse the air pump in water. It is designed for external use only.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Ensure the power cord is not damaged and is placed where it cannot be tripped over or damaged.
  • This appliance is for indoor use only.

5. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your FEDOUR Aquarium Air Pump:

5.1. Prepare Air Tubing and Check Valves

  1. Cut Air Tubing: Cut the provided air tubing to the desired lengths for your aquarium setup. Ensure sufficient length to reach the air pump from your air stones/filters.
  2. Connect Check Valves: Install a check valve (return valve) on each air tube. The check valve prevents water from flowing back into the air pump. Pay close attention to the installation direction of the check valves (usually indicated by an arrow on the valve, pointing towards the air stone/aquarium).
Video: This video demonstrates the installation of check valves and air stones for an aquarium air pump. It shows how to cut air tubing, connect the check valve in the correct airflow direction, and attach the air stone to the tubing.

5.2. Connect Air Stones and Pump

  1. Attach Air Stones: Connect an air stone to the end of each air tube (after the check valve).
  2. Connect to Pump Outlets: Attach the other end of the air tubes (from the check valve side) to the two outlets on the FEDOUR air pump.

5.3. Single Outlet Setup (Optional)

If you only need one air outlet, you can use the provided T-connector to combine the two pump outlets into one:

  1. Connect T-Connector: Use short pieces of air tubing to connect both pump outlets to the two inputs of the T-connector.
  2. Single Air Tube: Connect a single air tube (with check valve and air stone) to the output of the T-connector.
Video: This video demonstrates how to convert the dual outlets of an aquarium air pump into a single outlet using a T-connector, and then connect it to an air stone.

5.4. Placement

  • Place the air pump on a stable, dry surface.
  • Ensure the air pump is positioned above the water level of the aquarium. If this is not possible, ensure check valves are correctly installed to prevent water backflow.
  • The soft rubber feet on the pump help reduce vibration and noise.

6. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Plug the air pump into a suitable power outlet. The pump will start operating immediately.
  2. Adjust Air Volume: Use the smooth adjustment knob on the top of the pump to control the air volume. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase air flow (High) and counter-clockwise to decrease air flow (Low). This allows you to fine-tune the oxygenation level for your tank.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your air pump.

  • Air Filter Cotton Replacement: The air pump includes an air filter cotton at the bottom to filter impurities. Replace the filter cotton periodically (e.g., every 2-3 months or when visibly dirty) to maintain air quality and prolong pump life. A spare filter cotton is included.
  • Air Stone Cleaning: Over time, air stones can become clogged, reducing bubble output. Clean or replace air stones as needed to ensure consistent aeration.
  • Tubing Inspection: Periodically check air tubing for kinks, blockages, or damage. Replace any damaged tubing.
  • Pump Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the pump with a dry cloth to remove dust. Do not use harsh chemicals or immerse the pump in water.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No air output or weak air flow
  • Power not connected.
  • Air stone clogged.
  • Air tubing kinked or blocked.
  • Air filter cotton dirty.
  • Air volume knob set too low.
  • Check power connection.
  • Clean or replace air stone.
  • Straighten or clear tubing.
  • Replace air filter cotton.
  • Adjust air volume knob clockwise.
Excessive noise/vibration
  • Pump not on a stable surface.
  • Tubing vibrating against surfaces.
  • Air volume set too high (for some users).
  • Ensure pump is on a flat, stable surface.
  • Adjust tubing position.
  • Slightly reduce air volume.
Water backflow into pump
  • Check valve not installed or installed incorrectly.
  • Pump placed below water level without check valve.
  • Install check valve correctly (arrow towards aquarium).
  • Ensure pump is above water level or check valve is functional.
