- Throttle Valve: Controls the amount of air and fuel mixture entering the engine.
- Idle Adjustment Screw: Regulates the engine's idle speed.
- Air Ratio Adjustment Screw (Fuel Mixture Screw): Fine-tunes the air-fuel mixture for optimal combustion.
- Negative Pressure Tube: Connects to the engine's vacuum system.
- Gasoline Full Exhaust: Fuel drain point.
3.2. Included Components
- QXBER PWK 21mm Carburetor
- Fuel filter
- Assorted jets for tuning
- Cleaning brushes/needles
- Mounting hardware (e.g., clamp, gasket)
4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the carburetor's performance. If you are unsure about any steps, consult a qualified mechanic.
4.1. Pre-Installation Checks
- Verify that the carburetor size (21mm) is compatible with your engine's requirements.
- Ensure all included components are present and undamaged.
- Clean the intake manifold and surrounding area where the carburetor will be mounted.
4.2. Installation Steps
- Remove the old carburetor (if applicable) and clean any residual gasket material from the intake manifold.
- Install the new gasket onto the intake manifold.
- Mount the QXBER PWK 21mm Carburetor onto the intake manifold, ensuring a secure and airtight fit. Use the provided clamp or mounting hardware.
- Connect the fuel line to the carburetor's fuel inlet. Install the inline fuel filter if not already present.
- Connect the throttle cable to the throttle valve mechanism. Ensure smooth operation without binding.
- Connect any vacuum lines or overflow tubes as per your vehicle's specifications.
- Install the air filter onto the carburetor's air intake.

5. Operating and Tuning
After installation, initial tuning is often required for optimal engine performance.
5.1. Initial Startup
- Ensure the fuel tank has sufficient fuel.
- Turn on the fuel petcock.
- Engage the choke (if equipped and necessary for cold starts).
- Start the engine. It may take several attempts for fuel to fill the carburetor bowl.
- Once the engine starts, gradually disengage the choke as the engine warms up.
5.2. Adjusting Idle Speed
- Allow the engine to reach operating temperature.
- Locate the idle adjustment screw (refer to Figure 3.2).
- Turn the screw clockwise to increase idle speed or counter-clockwise to decrease it, until a stable idle is achieved.
5.3. Adjusting Fuel Mixture (Air Ratio)
- With the engine at operating temperature and idling, locate the air ratio adjustment screw (refer to Figure 3.2).
- Gently turn the screw clockwise until it seats lightly, then back it out 1.5 to 2.5 turns as a starting point.
- Adjust the screw in small increments (1/8 to 1/4 turn) while listening to the engine's response. The goal is to find the highest, smoothest idle.
- Once the optimal mixture is found, readjust the idle speed if necessary.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures consistent performance and extends the life of your carburetor.
6.1. Cleaning the Carburetor
- Periodically remove the carburetor and disassemble it carefully.
- Use a carburetor cleaner spray to clean all passages, jets, and the float bowl.
- Use the provided cleaning brushes and needles to clear any blockages in the jets and small passages.
- Inspect all gaskets and O-rings for wear or damage and replace if necessary.
- Reassemble the carburetor, ensuring all components are correctly seated.
6.2. Fuel Filter Inspection
- Regularly inspect the inline fuel filter for debris or discoloration.
- Replace the fuel filter if it appears clogged or dirty to prevent fuel delivery issues.
7. Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:
| Symptom | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Engine won't start | No fuel, clogged fuel filter, incorrect choke setting, fouled spark plug | Check fuel level, replace fuel filter, adjust choke, inspect/replace spark plug |
| Engine idles poorly/stalls | Incorrect idle speed or fuel mixture, vacuum leak, clogged pilot jet | Adjust idle and mixture screws, check for leaks, clean pilot jet |
| Engine bogs down on acceleration | Incorrect main jet size, accelerator pump issue, float level incorrect | Install appropriate main jet, check accelerator pump, adjust float level |
| Fuel leaks | Damaged float bowl gasket, stuck float, loose drain screw | Replace gasket, clean/adjust float, tighten drain screw |
